THE SINGER IS HERE 😈 My new album is now out in the world. The project I have been working on like a madman in the garret for over three years is released. You can now listen to these songs and I hope enjoy them. Actually f**k that I hope for more than enjoyment. I hope they move you in some way. I hope they get stuck in your head, and you find yourself humming them in quiet moments. I hope the words I have written circle you like seagulls around a hot chip. I hope that these songs connect with the part of you that yearns for songs. ❣️ I put a lot into this record and so did a lot of other people. If it takes a village to raise a child then it at least takes a good sized suburb to raise an album from the dust. So many people took huge chances on me with this. @bonnievezeleaameliaknight my incredible producer. Will Oldham / Bonnie “Prince” Billy @wignifier who lent his beautiful voice and mana to my song Half Real. My amazing band on the record @goose_chase_ @laws.on @mitchthomasmusic . Body on the line ✅ Heart on sleeve ✅ Tour complete ✅ Capping off The Singer AU tour with a packed hometown show at The Tote was a dream 💖 Huge thank you to everyone who came out and rocked with us. The DCMAXXING community is growing and we are STRONG and SEXY AF 😈 This run of shows ended up being a bit more eventful than I expected, with one too many hospital visits. Could not have done it without my guys @goose_chase_ @spiderman1billion and @notnickcrameri who backed me through it all. I almost cried when I got back to the Brisbane accom from the hospital at 4am and the boys were trying to stay up for me watching SCHOOL OF ROCK 🥹 HUGE thank you to manager extraordinare @jess.f.u @crashermusic_ for dealing with the curveball of broken limbs amongst my usual diva shenanigans 🫡💖 she’s the genius behind the mayhem 💖 NOW I ACTUALLY NEED TO REST!!!! Doctor has ordered mad chilling for a month while my ankle heals 🥰 but after that… expect hectic, sexy, sweaty song and dance antics to return to a pub/kebab/chicken shop near YOU‼️ With love, DC ❤️‍🔥 by @d.c.maxwell

DC Maxwell LIVE AT Shah Kebabs is a show that will live in INFAMY 😈 No one wanted to book us for any big sound side shows so we took matters into our own hands, linking up with the crew behind the best kebab in Queensland (shout out @nilo_1971 ) and the rest is history 🥵 Thank you to everyone that came through. SATURDAY SEP 12 - LAST SHOW OF THE SINGER TOUR 😈😈😈😈 Multiple medical professionals have told me to cancel this show. That to perform puts my recovery at risk. But I said what’s more important than singing and dancing!? The show must go on!!! 💖 This tour has had everything; broken bones, life changing sets, late night hospital visits, formal warnings from Brisbane City Council, friendships made, enemies destroyed, blood, sweat, tears spilled on the stage in the name of rock n roll. Looking forward to finishing it off STRONG at @thetotehotel this SATURDAY with @gloomie.baby @frons__ and @silverponiesband This is a HUGE LINE UP and gonna be a SICK NIGHT. THE STORY OF DC MAXWELL AT BIG SOUND: 1: Band SENDS IT to a MAXXED out room at Tom Cat. Huge show. Huge vibes. We zoned it ❤️‍🔥 All photos by the incredible @reasonablynathan 💖 THE STORY OF DC MAXWELL AT BIG SOUND 2: But DC takes it too far and makes an idiotic rockstar leap from the top of the speaker stack. THE STORY OF DC MAXWELL AT BIG SOUND: 3: His ankle fractured on impact. DC writhing in pain on the ground as the crowd watches on. THE STORY OF DC MAXWELL AT BIG SOUND 4: A professional song and dance man always finishes the set, even when they are in a lot of pain and can’t stand up 😈 THE STORY OF DC MAXWELL AT BIG SOUND: 5: Medics are called and assess that DC can’t walk and needs to go to the hospital. THE STORY OF DC MAXWELL AT BIG SOUND: 6: The woeful rocker is wheeled out of the venue (after climbing down the stairs!) and heads to the hospital. He would be in hospital for hours getting X-rayed and a cast put on. He was not discharged until 4am the following morning. THE STORY OF DC MAXWELL AT BIG SOUND: 7: The Miracle At Black Bear Lodge. At 11:30pm that same day DC performs a phenomenal set without the use of his right leg. THE STORY OF DC MAXWELL AT BIG SOUND: 8: While many would have given up their spot this rocker crutched onto the stage and gave it his absolute all. Using the microphone stand to support himself. Hopping around with much of his usual energy and passion. THE STORY OF DC MAXWELL AT BIG SOUND: 9: Without the use of physicality the rocker is forced to stand and deliver his songs with stationary aura. Presenting the songs in their rawest and realest form. THE STORY OF DC MAXWELL AT BIG SOUND: 10: This intensity of songcraft leads to one of the best shows of his career so far, and an intense artistic statement about standing behind the songs you write (even if you can only do it on one leg). THE STORY OF DC MAXWELL AT BIG SOUND: 11: The Miracle Of The Black Bear Lodge has come to pass. The set complete. The singer is spent. All of it left on the stage. by @d.c.maxwell

It still doesn’t feel real that Will Oldham/Bonnie “Prince” Billy lent his voice to my song Half Real. But it happened. In @rollingstoneaus we chatted about how we connected while recording in Los Angeles, and letting your songwriting shapeshift and grow. Forever grateful to @wignifier for taking a chance on me, and bringing so much heart to this song.
