I took the visual direction beyond static event creatives and translated it into motion, giving the identity more energy, rhythm, and personality.

The goal was to make the information feel alive while keeping the event details clear and easy to follow. Every movement, and timing choice was built around the personality of the event: energetic, social, playful, and a little bit chaotic. 😂

Because sometimes, a great event doesn’t just need to look good.

It needs to move like it feels.

I had the opportunity to work on the visual direction for 9-5ers Hangout. An event created for the people who spend most of their week working, building, creating, and somehow still find the energy to step outside. 😂

The goal was simple: create visuals that feel social, energetic, youthful, and unapologetically fun, while still communicating the important event information clearly.

From the typography and composition to the colour treatment and individual personality of each creative, every element was designed to make the event feel like something you want to be part of, not just something you were informed about.

Because great event design isn’t just about making a flyer look good.

It’s about creating anticipation before the doors even open.

Being an introvert has honestly limited me in ways I didn’t realize.

Especially as a creative.

You can’t keep hiding behind the work and expect people to see the person, the ideas, or the vision behind it.

So yeah… I think I’m about to get a little crazy. Maybe even delusional. 😂

Because sometimes creativity requires you to believe in an idea before anyone else sees it. To express yourself without overthinking how it’ll be received. To make the weird thing, say the bold thing, and chase the impossible idea.

Maybe being “delusional” isn’t always a bad thing.

Sometimes it’s just confidence before the evidence. And I think I need a little more of that. 🧠🎨 by @d.ddrree

I remember working on this one, from attaching the designs I created and carefully studying the 3D plan before prompting the layout. The back-and-forth was quite a lot too, especially because we needed to make sure the colours worked seamlessly across every application.

They really wanted to own the look and feel of it, and I’m honestly glad with where we eventually landed.

Life lately and honestly, for quite a while now, has mostly been screens, deadlines, and being tucked away in my own little world or like I call it, my incubator.

But I’ve been realizing there’s so much more beyond the glow of a screen. There’s a whole world out there to experience, places to discover, people to meet, conversations to have, and genuine connections waiting to happen.

So, I’m making a conscious effort to step outside my comfort zone a little more. To show up, be present, meet people, try new things, and actually experience life beyond the pixels.

Maybe I’ll ease into it, or maybe I’ll go all the way. Either way, I think it’s time I got a little more out there. 🌍 by @d.ddrree
