This is how we start our songs, often times finding that sweet spot and playing the drums live to catch that feel. No trickery, just honest playing. No quantization needed 😉🤓 Its all about just catching a feel. This was our session this evening. Spending time to find it. Then taking time to find the groove. Its organic and a inspiring spiritual thing, being on the same page. We see hip-hop first, where others dont. And we frame it, from a vision in our mind and a groove in our heart. Thats our creative process. Then clearly we play other layers around, both with vocals and instruments be it turntables and scratching, or authentic bass lines from wonderful analog synths, or strings with some effects!! Anyways thought id share, just having fun being creative while i have the time. This is one of the keys to my happiness in life. And yes, i play the drums live always. Its much faster than programming them, and to me it puts a natural swing that would be challenging to duplicate with programming. I dont program my instruments, i play them!! (Ok, i prolly program them too!! I wanted you guys to see it in action, and hear it more cleanly. I made a whole software music production ecosystem! And its spot on! Always can be better but i made a sampler daw hybrid vst. With 100 percent lossless audio. With user adjustable thickness and punch. Like 10 samplers in one.
