It’s been a hard year getting back into PSA for me. After losing my best friend in March life has felt different. Some things just don’t feel quite real still.
These dogs come into our lives, and before we know it can change the trajectory of our lives forever.
I remind myself of all the things we did, all the things we tried. How much effort, time, sweat, and tears went into building a fulfilling life for you. It wasn’t until after you were gone did I realize it wasn’t just to fulfill your life, but mine too. I’m eternally grateful for all the lessons you taught me.
The biggest lesson being: Resilience.

I am grateful for every handler who has trusted me with their dogs over the years. Your trust motivates me to continue this dream ole 15yr old me never imagined possible. Keeping your best friend safe, and being able to help others enjoy their dogs is my top priority.

Oh, my boy. You were a bad dog to some but so special to others. Everything I see in my world is because of you. I owe you everything. So many things I’ve wondered “is this for me” “am I actually good enough” “is it worth pursuing when I feel so inadequate”. And I think about all the boxes you weren’t supposed to fit in, all the hats I made you wear and you overcame the things you “weren’t supposed to do” “weren’t made for” “too much baggage for”. You’ve taught me resilience. I owe it to you to see the same light in myself that I saw in you. We are both flawed but that means no less. I’m grateful to have spent more than half my lifetime so far with you by my side, and the rest of my lifetime with you in my memory. I don’t remember much before you, infact you’re all I remember for most of my youth. You were the guinea pig for all the things I wanted to do and learn. And you went along for the ride every time, happy to be working. We shared the same anxieties, insecurities, and drive but you were always braver than me my boy. I will forever look up to you, and remind myself of your resilience. You were never easy, but that made you perfect for me. You came into my life exactly when we needed each other. Man would you have brought havoc to any pet owner who might have gotten to you before I did haha, and I’m sure you would have had fun doing so. My special boy I am left with so many great memories I will cherish forever. Rest my boy, you’ve done it all, seen it all. I have no regrets in our life, left with nothing I wish we had done, we lived it up together.
