"Can't Sleep (feat. runner)" and the music vid are out everywhere today!

I wrote this song on April 30, 2024, while taking a break from a sleepless night, writing comprehensive exams for grad school.

I was doing too much but somehow feeling like I wasn't ever doing enough. That anxiety started spilling over into the rest of my life. I wasn't present with the people I cared about most. And all of that made me feel like a failure.

This song isn't exactly about that, but about realizing what that headspace felt like, where it came from, and how it affected everyone around me.

Writing it helped me start breaking out of those thought patterns. Like a mantra to get back on my feet.

Thanks to @hydnwtsn for being so generous with his time and resources to let me and @_i_love_fall
record this one, and then making it sound sick. @coltenjw helped track and engineered overdubs! Thx @_i_love_fall for ripping drums and a fun ass week. @runnertheband for completing the song with rad dual lead vox, playing it live, being pals. @scoopsrecordsmusic for mastering! @steveroste
for helping make and think up promo vids. Thanks to @kylehuck & @ianphoto_ for shooting the film & dv cam live footage!

Thanks to @craftedsounds for supporting my music the last six years, and @hey_hthr for stepping up on the solo releases ♥️

Musician Daniel Forrest (@d.l.forrest) arrived in Vancouver knowing nothing about the city. His stranger's eye, and his prolific musical output in grunge-pop band Buddie (@buddie_band) and as a solo artist, make his insights worth a listen. What's keeping you up at night?

This song's out in 10 days! Quick lil live rendition from this freaky high-rise balcony yesterday.
