🌶️ Sisterhood of the Travelling (Weird Peen) Book! 🍆

A little book-fuelled fun with: @bookish.holly @unhinged_brown_booklover @chloes_cosy_corner_ @khoshyyy @erikas.editions @stephlockholmes
from @mutiny_and_margins 💌✨

The brief: a smutty good time with a unique premise. 👀

We’ll be passing our chosen books around the group, reading and annotating as we go before they eventually make their way home filled with everyone’s thoughts, reactions and marginalia. 🥹💗

My pick is That Time I Got Drunk and Yeeted a Love Potion at a Werewolf by @kimberlylemming 🐺🍷💘 And honestly, I couldn’t just buy one… I had to buy all three because LOOK AT THEM! 😍

I’ll be documenting this chaotic, smut-filled adventure as we go!
Here’s to spicy stories, wildly original plots and questionable fictional decisions. 💅🏻🌶️

Smutty reads • mutiny & margins • Annotated chaos • Spicy stories • Romantasy vibes • Travelling books • Marginalia madness • Kimberly Lemming • Yeeting the Margins • Book swap fun • Fictional crushes • Plot twists • Shared stories • Reading adventures

When I tell you I am SO EXCITED to finally sink my teeth into this one, I am truly understating it!
I devoured the ARC of Dating in Decay and I am so grateful to be able to ARC read Romancing in Rot too! @authorlindseymontgomery has created such a unique world full of amazing characters and lots and lots of zombie action 🧟‍♂️ I’m going to be completely MIA until I’ve got this one read because it deserves my full attention 🫶 now to just distract the other half with some football so I can read in peace 😂

Someone needs to come and have a word with me about my impulse book purchasing 😅

BUT… look how STUNNING these ones are 🧡📚

I’m currently reading The Poison Daughter and I’m loving it so far! Such an interesting concept and the spice be spicing 🌶️ 👀 I’m also SO excited to read The Ascended!

But can we all just take a moment to appreciate the absolute beauty that is this special edition of Bodies of Magic?! 😍 The naked hardback is SO incredible and I genuinely cannot stop staring at it. 🧡✨

🖤September is always the beginning of spooky season for me as I love it to last as long as possible! So it felt only right to add a creepy new book to the library 🖤

The House That Eats the Dead feels like the perfect addition. The sprayed edges are hands down one of my favourites & this edition is just SO cool.. especially that naked hardback 👀🦷

Very, very excited to get stuck into this one! 🙌

🧡 Currently Reading - Burn of the Everflame by @authorpenncole 🧡

I am 564 pages (which is only 54% of this chonky little beauty) into Burn & I am absolutely adoring it & savouring every single word. So far I’ve laughed, cried, shouted & taken walks around my house to shake off the feels, and I cannot wait for another 500pgs of a completely emotional rollercoaster ride 🔥🧡

Tell me, what’s the best book bargain you’ve ever got?

The 99p clearance section at Waterstones was incredible yesterday!
I’m forever grateful that this is so hit and miss because honestly if it was this good all the time I’d genuinely have no space for even a sofa in my living room 😂
I’ve been eyeing up Girls of Little Hope for a long time & so this seemed like a sign from the Book Gods that I need to read it 🙌

August reads are here… only slightly fashionably late as always 🫣📚

Another month, another little look at what I’ve been reading in August over the years! It’s honestly one of my favourite things about doing these monthly posts - seeing how my reading habits and tastes have varied year by year.

And of course August is usually a particularly busy reading month with the summer holidays ☀️

Swipe through to see what made the August reading list each year ➡️

Now, September… let’s pretend I’m not already behind 😂

💚 Life Lately 💚
I’ve been fully MIA recently as I’ve been back home in N.Ireland visiting family and friends so I had a complete social media detox and it was amazing!

I’ve had my other half over here with me and we’ve travelled & ate our way around the country - and of course I’ve picked up wayyyy too many books along the way which I will do a little haul of when I’m back in London 🤗

Here’s just a little snippet of the trip & some of the food & sights 😍
There truly is nothing better than spending time with the people who know you best & the places you grew up with 💚

Currently on my annual summer trip back home to N.Ireland ☘️🫶 and these were taken on the ferry over - because obviously I couldn’t resist getting some kindle shots with the sea as my backdrop 🌊📖

I am currently ARC reading Ember and Ash by @lisareneejones which releases on 27th August 🔥 (see the second picture for the blurb!)
I haven’t managed to get too far in yet because I’ve been busy seeing everyone but what I have read so far has me VERY eagerly awaiting some proper Kindle time 👀🙌

And today is looking like that time, a nice slow and relaxed day… so I plan on doing a lot of reading ☕️📖✨

In the dark of the night, there is passion and destruction…

Criminal defense attorney Ember Thorne thought the biggest challenge of her life would be her quest to navigate the justice system on behalf of the wrongly accused. That is, until she finds herself in the sights of an otherworldly evil, desperately hunting what she cannot kill, not yet, at least. Nothing in her life, or in this world, is what it seems, and when a blue-eyed stranger named Micah saves her life, their attraction is the fire that could become the death of all that exists or the salvation that blooms with new hope for all. Micah, royalty in his own right, will challenge her to stand against evil, but when you have never known true evil, can you really recognize it where it hides?

In a world where angels and demons are the truth humans call fiction, could it be a lie between lovers that equals salvation? Or is that lie the blade that delivers devastation?

My booksta is probably going to be a little quieter while I’m home as I’ll be making the most of catching up with family & friends and generally switching off for a bit 🧡
