I flew out of the U.S. for the very first time during college in 2022. I had no idea back then that it was the beginning of something that would define so many pivotal years of my life. It’s been a rollercoaster ever since then, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. As of now, 2026 is shaping up to be the craziest year yet (stay tuned…)

🇲🇽México officially marks my 25th country, and Chichén Itzá my second Wonder of the World. I’m learning that free will is a crazy thing and I’m feeling so thankful for it these days.

On December 14th, 2025 at 7:40AM, my team and I successfully summited Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, East Africa. Kilimanjaro is the highest free-standing mountain in the world, often referred to as “the roof of Africa”.

Our summit push began right at midnight and made for some unbeatable dad lore… throwing both a blizzard and lightning storm at us concurrently [while already dealing with the pitch-black conditions and high winds]. One of our guides had said that this was the most snow he had ever seen at the summit in his years of climbing the mountain. Despite our team’s worries, we decided to push through and it surely paid off.

Climbing straight through the freezing nighttime, we eventually reached Uhuru Peak at 7:40am, sitting at an elevation of 19,340 feet (5,895 meters). Given the insane weather conditions, we passed a ton of teams turning around and forfeiting their summit attempts. For us, on the other hand… all three of us climbers were very stubborn and had no intention of turning around despite the exhaustion, breathing difficulties and worries of frostbite or other illnesses.

For me, Kilimanjaro was the most I’ve ever pushed myself (both physically and mentally), and I am so honored to stand beside the others who were there to make sure we all made it to the peak as well as hold each other accountable along the way. After altitude sickness almost sidelined me on morning three, it feels surreal now to say that this would only be a hiccup in the grand scheme of the climb… seven days up and down the mountain is no joke. I’m writing this out on a 17-hour flight back to the U.S. with my face covered in wind-sheer burns and my body still incredibly sore, with not one regret in the world.

The pictures attached cover a variety of climate zones; from the hot Kili jungle full of monkeys to the Shira Plateau, the Moorlands and all the way up to the alpine zone.
