OOHH MY Gawd, what an emotional rollercoaster. Switched my jersey after the second half, and things started getting better. I'm not superstitious, but I'm just a little stitious 😆

For 10 years, 11 months, and 5 days, I had the absolute pleasure & privilege of loving and providing a safe home to the bestest boy, Boogie. What began as a reluctant favor to foster another dog for two weeks w/ my mom convincing me, “You should do it, baby”, turned into one of the most serendipitous blessings of my life.

I picked him up a day before my late cousin’s birthday, not knowing that this little dog would become my comfort and light through the hardest seasons of my life. I experienced many losses this past decade, and he was there through every loss, every quiet moment when grief felt too heavy to bear. When my mom passed, and he saw me cry for the first time, he jumped onto my chest, laid his head down, and refused to leave my side, as if he knew his only job in that moment was to hold me together. Now it's my turn to grieve him.

Boogie was extremely affectionate (I had to get used that), smart, understatedly athletic, looked and acted younger than what he was (sounds like anyone you know?), and was the handsomest boy. Like many who've survived a hard past, he had challenges. His abusive past made certain things, like meeting new people (especially men), befriending dogs, and traveling, difficult. When I traveled, I had to book a hotel suite for him at the pet hotel with one on one playtime bc he didn't like other dogs! I even hired trainer that worked at the Bronx Zoo with wild animals to work on some of his aggression. Your boy wasn’t cheap to care for. Some of my friends even nicknamed him “Bougie.” But he was worth every moment, every effort, every dollar.

He loved playing catch, sticking his head out the window on car rides, chasing pigeons & squirrels, going for walks and returning HOME (that was so heartwarming, he loved his forever home), napping (with a pillow!), my family. He LOVED my mom, LOVED Ace. But most of all, he loved me.

We built an amazing life together, full of love, loyalty, and laughter. He's considered a rescue dog, but he rescued me. My boy served his purpose. RIP Boogs. I love you, forever❤️❤️😢😢

Celebrated my little baby's 40th Bday this weekend! Broadway show, foam pool party, fireworks, margaritas, and unfortunately not enough water or sleep lol.

Wow, what an amazing show! Ace's first Broadway show on his 5th Bday was absolutely perfect! The cast was spectacular, the storyline superb, and the songs and dance routines obviously top tier. On top of that Ace stole the show! The crowd and cast couldn't get enough of his dance moves 🤣

Thank you to the cast for being so nice to Ace on his birthday. Core memory made. 🙌🙌
