This week, D2 recognizes Corps Chief of Staff Garrett Hruzek ’27

Garrett is a Chemical Engineering major from Magnolia, Texas. In addition to serving as Corps Chief of Staff, he is a member of Rudder’s Rangers, the Ross Volunteer Company, and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. He is also an Air Assault graduate.

Outside the Quad, Garrett enjoys camping, woodworking, and playing games with his family. After graduation, he plans to serve as a Medical Service Corps officer in the U.S. Army and start a family.

His advice to the Fish: “Rely on each other and be quick to forgive. The difficulties you will undergo with each other help form you into the men you wish to become. It is too easy to ruin relationships by acting quickly and out of your own self-interest. Do the hard thing and lean on each other, it will only help you grow.”

Dog of the Week!

This week, D2 recognizes Joseph Graybill ’27.

Originally from Quito, Ecuador, Joseph studies Construction Science at Texas A&M. In addition to being a member of the Corps, he is involved in Army ROTC and Parsons Mounted Cavalry. He is also a videographer for Aggie Corps Media.

Outside the quad, Joseph enjoys hunting, fishing, the outdoors, facebook marketplace deals, and spending time with his girlfriend and friends. After graduation, he plans to commission into the Texas National Guard and pursue a career in Electrical construction.

His advice to the Fish: “Don’t let the Corps and a bachelors degree become the most difficult thing you ever do. It’s supposed to challenge you, but remember that there’s a lot more ahead of you. Embrace the long days, enjoy the people around you, and use this opportunity to make mistakes and learn."

His advice to the Fish: “Push yourself to be as present as possible. Be there for your buddies, invest in your outfit, and embrace the things that challenge you. That is what makes fish year one of the most rewarding experiences you will have at A&M.”
