Join artists Daisy Walker and Georgia Salisbury in a joint workshop to learn the art of cyanotyping and stitching and customize your very own Basel Art Summer Camp tote bag !

During this workshop, you will take a walk to the nearby park where you will learn cyanotype techniques with Daisy. Then you will head back to Hyve where Georgia will take over and teach you stitching and embroidery techniques. You will leave with your very own, one-of-a-kind BASC tote bag.

Meet Daisy Walker ( @d41ze ),

Daisy Walker is a multi-media artist whose practice is currently centred on painting. Having moved frequently throughout childhood, her work grew into the one constant that travelled with her, carrying themes of shifting, adapting, and rebuilding. Her practice is autobiographical and deeply rooted in gothic architecture, where light and the colour blue play central roles. Windows appear throughout her paintings as portals, escapes, and points of transition. Walker aims to transport viewers into constructed worlds that offer a sense of tranquillity, memory, and a place to return to.

We asked Daisy what she was most excited about for BASC, here’s what she said :
« The one thing I am most excited about during art Basel week is the opportunity to meet new artists and learn about their practices. Sharing the stories and techniques that guide us through our work whilst exploring a new city! »

HOAR CROSS
Cyanotypes - A4

Seeing as I use mostly blue within my work, I decided to create some Cyanotypes using images of Hoar cross, Staffordshire. It’s all about experimenting. I’m sure they will come out clearer within time :)

Been feeling nostalgic recently. Thinking about the experiences and people I’ve met that have shaped me into the person I am today. However, I’ve realised that I am the reason I am today because of me. Because how I’ve these experiences and learnt to process my emotions. My work is slowly turning more autobiographical and hopefully that shines through to you lot :) by @d41ze
