There is no international law.
There is empire.
There is imperial impunity.
There are B-52 bombers.
There are 800 US military bases
in 80 countries.
There are strike teams.
There are death squads.
There are genocides.
There are coups.
There is oil.

With the Trump administration taking office, some states in the US ordered and carried out the removal of books from municipal and school libraries.

Margaret Atwood
The Handmaid’s Tale
The focus is on the depiction of a dystopian future in which the United States has been overthrown by a totalitarian, Christian fundamentalist regime called Gilead. In this society, women are deprived of their rights and abused as breeding machines, or „handmaids,“ for the ruling elite.

George Orwell
Animal Farm
The central theme is the allegorical portrayal of the Russian Revolution and the rise of Stalinism. Orwell uses the story of a rebellion on a farm to expose the mechanisms of abuse of power, corruption and totalitarian rule.

The Diary of Anne Frank
The diary describes the genocide of the Jews by German Nazi criminals from the perspective of a young girl.

Suzanne Collins
The Hunger Games
The central idea is how violence can be used to control a population.

John Green
The Fault in Our Stars
The central theme is confronting the finiteness of life and dealing with pain.

Harper Lee
To Kill a Mockingbird
The central theme is the portrayal of racism, prejudice and injustice in an American town in the 1930s, as well as the importance of empathy, morality and justice. The novel is told from the perspective of a child.

Jodi Picoult
Nineteen Minutes
The central theme is a school massacre committed by 17-year-old Peter Houghton. The novel examines the causes and consequences of this act, highlighting the perspectives of various people affected by the massacre.

George Orwell
1984
The central theme is the depiction of a totalitarian society in which the state controls the thoughts and actions of its citizens through omnipresent surveillance and manipulation. The novel warns urgently of the dangers of totalitarianism and the suppression of individual freedom and criticises the abuse of power by political systems.

„War is peace.
Freedom is slavery.
Ignorance is strength.“

Just wanted to make it really clear that forcing
1.2 million Lebanese (1/5 of the population)
out of their homes is ethnic cleansing and it is a war crime!
Israhell is currently illegally invading
Lebanon, illegally bombing Iran, illegally killing Palestinians in Gaza, illegally killing Palestinians in the West Bank, illegally building more settlements and illegally occupying Syria!
Lebanon is under attack!!
Israhell is bombing everywhere, all at once, across Beirut, cities, suburbs, and villages.
Civilian areas, homes, and lives are being targeted relentlessly, in plain sight!
This is carried out with impunity, in clear
violation of international humanitarian law!
And the world is watching!!!
Just as they do in Gaza, in Lebanon Israhell is targeting academics, cameramen, medics,
and of course children!
How many forced displacements, erased bloodlines, razed towns, serially slain paramedics and shattered healthcare systems will we face before your outrage becomes globally coordinated resistance?

To the silent majority!
You would be loud if the cities being bombed were London or Paris or New York!
But not when the cities are Beirut
or Tehran or Rafah!
You would take to the streets if the archaeological sites being obliterated were in Athens or Rome or rural England!
But not when they are in Baalbek or Tyre or Sidon!
The Israhellis have bombed at least 128 medical facilities and ambulances across south Lebanon!
They are committing double tap strikes to kill medics and rescue workers, just as they did in Gaza!
Medics are forced to delay their responses!!
These monsters are normalizing war crimes that were once unthinkable!
But maybe you didn’t know that this is
happening bc our media doesn’t care to cover it.
But NOW you do!

Colonial systems use trauma to get groups to do the dirty work for the leaders. The US is fighting to say that anti-Zionism is anti-Semitism in order to maintain the propaganda machine that keeps Jews in a state of fear so that we will support the genocide. by @d_orothea_11

Zionism was a niche, radical movement founded by elite financiers and intellectuals, and was rejected by most Jewish groups across Europe and around the world.

Remix and thanks to @rollaselbak

Here is the story of how Zionists colluded with the N-zis in order to help colonize and populate Palestine, at a time when all other Jewish groups were boycotting the very N-zis that were persecuting and genoc* ding them. by @d_orothea_11

Avigail Abarbanel: „I didn’t realise it at the time, but I was already on a journey to leave the Zionist indoctrination I was brought up on. I started out as a ‚soft lefty‘ who didn’t really understand Israel’s history but didn’t like the injustice done to the Palestinians.
In 2001, at the start of the second intifada, I renounced my Israeli citizenship. From then on I became a more outspoken activist for Palestinian right.
But it took a few more years before I completed the journey to renounce Israeli settler-colonialism, which means becoming an anti-Zionist.“

Avigail Abarbanel is a psychotherapist in private practice and an activist for Palestinian rights. She was born in Israel in 1964 and served in the Israeli army during Israel’s 1982 invasion of Lebanon. Avigail moved to Australia in 1991 where she lived for eighteen years and where she completed her undergraduate and postgraduate studies. She now lives and works near Inverness in Scotland. Her activist work consists mainly of writing and public speaking.

Poems @daliah.lina
A collection of thoughts on „Friendships lost to the empire.“

Thank you for your words.

Following text:

Sometimes losing a friend to silence feels louder than any argument could. It’s the moment you realise that when the world demanded courage, they chose comfort. When truth needed a voice, they closed their mouth. When you needed someone to stand beside you, they stepped back into the shadows.
And that silence... It hurts in a way that words never could.
Because it shows you exactly who they are - or who they’ve always been. Someone who liked the easy parts of you, the peaceful moments, the light. But not someone willing to face the heaviness, the injustice, the fight for what’s right.
And yet, in that heartbreak, something shifts. You begin to see that their silence is not a reflection of your worth, but of their limits. Their fear. Their unwillingness to be uncomfortable for the sake of truth.
Losing them feels like losing a piece of your past, but gaining a deeper understanding of yourself. Of your strength. Ot your values. Of the kind of people you want beside you When the world grows dark and the stakes are human.
Their silence created space - painful, yes, but necessary. Because now there is room for those who refuse to look away, those who will raise their voice even when it trembles, those who understand that staying silent in the face of oppression is choosing the side of the oppressor.
You didn’t lose a friend. You lost a bystander. And that is a truth that hurts - but also frees. by @d_orothea_11

Warum —
die jungen Frauen,
die noch fühlen,
dich sehen.

Dein Wort:
Macht.
Und Gift.

Wir wollen keinen Sturz.
Nur den Morgen,
ohne dich.
ohne Befehl.

Unter der Erde
die Stimmen der Mütter.
Sie flüstern:
geh.

Du, Alter-Weißer-Mann,
dein Reich ist Staub.
Dein Stolz — taub.
Deine Haut fahl
Und dein Fleisch gedunsen.

Wir stehen schon
jenseits deines Segens.
Das Folgende kommt.
Namenlos.
Unaufhaltsam. DL

Warum, fragt ihr, durchschauen gerade wir – die jungen, die Wütenden, die Empathischen – eure Sprache der Macht?
Weil wir sie auf unserer Haut spüren
in euren Blicken, in euren Sätzen,

DL
