Creating pools of black

So gently you rest your ear to its beating heart
And quietly you drown in that pool
Grasping to understand its song

The softness of you now gilded
Buried in earth
So heavenly and ornate

Dug deep and luminous beneath your nails
Forging a path in your fingerprint
Like a road leading home

So deep is the pool of your making
That dances shimmering and fat from your fingertips

That to swim in it
You are made infant again

That to watch it grow
You become the darkness you never were

It’s body wraps itself around you
Casting the sun upon your face

And you are one

I dreamt of oranges falling. My eyes turned skyward, they grew larger, closer, until all my vision was flaming terracotta, carnival suns and dimpled skin
I dreamt of a swan wearing teddies worn skin. I held him and cradled him until his eyes shut and he began to dream too by @da1s8
