Picture with my mom in the Fall of 1986 returning from 🇮🇹. A hobby that turns into a dream. I always like the competitive things, especially on two wheels. My parents weren't too keen on Motorcycle racing. That came later in life whether they liked it or not 😆.
So this was the next best thing. I spent 3 months in Italy.
Pursuing those ambitions. I met a lot of wonderful people made a lot of great connections. Nearing the end of my stay, I think my dad got caught off guard with a phone call from some dear friends. Saying to my father, why are you forcing him to come back to the united states. We can provide him a place to live, feed him and take care of him do you have nothing to worry about if he wants to stay for a couple years and give it a go. All he needs to do is just keep peddling . My dad's response to them was, if that's what he wants to do.And that's what makes him happy.And you guys believe in him. He said he had no worries.My dad was a pretty cool guy. My dad later reached out to me next day I said, i'm not gonna hold you back.You do what makes you happy. Ultimately, I did come back to the united states to begin my college education. It was a incredible experience of a lifetime. Some of the biggest hills and then the fun part flying downhill. Later in the years, returning sitting in the passenger side of a car thinking wow, that was quite a journey back in the stone age. by @da_vee_day
