20 Trailblazing Women paved the way so me and mine could proudly say…Oh how I love my AKA!! 💕💚

To the Klassy Kappa Iota Chapter, the ONLY way! I knew if I ever were so fortunate enough to join the best sorority that I had huge shoes to fill and I hope to have made you proud. I extend so much gratitude to the Kappa Iota Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated for all the strong role models who exemplify exSKEEllence in scrubs, on campus, and in the community. Thank you to my prophytes for seeing the potential in me to be of service to ALL mankind and to carry on the Klassy KI legacy.

To my 21 R.I.K.P, each one of you has brought something beautiful to my journey and I am so proud of us! Thank yall for all the support to keep going and for shaping me into a better person. I’m forever grateful to AKA for giving me so many sisters to continue to grow with and for the memories that bond us forever. No matter what and no matter when!!

To my 14 L.P.K.E, Thank you for sharpening me as a leader, sister, and Soror. As your big sister and The Vita1 P3arlsKription, it makes me so proud as I watch you embrace the values of Alpha Kappa Alpha with passion. Continue to lead with grace, serve with purpose, and wear your heels with pride. Always a call away!!

Greater tasks to begin,

WHEW!! I am so blessed to have been accepted — and now SUCCEEDED — in such a prestigious nursing program like The Eleanor Mann School of Nursing at THEE University of Arkansas.

Despite lots of advice to join less competitive programs, the endless nights of studying, and the way too many free 12 hour shifts…. I made it! I prayed for these red scrubs specifically as a little girl, and having the opportunity to learn in them has been so rewarding. I didn’t just fight for this degree… I fought for space, for respect, and for every little black girl who dreams of wearing these infamous Razorback scrubs despite the rarity. Thank you God for continuously wiping my tears and reminding me of my greatest calling, to serve others.
Learning how to save lives while also getting the most outta my undergraduate experience has been BUSY. However, the challenges and sacrifices have transformed me into the woman I am today and into a testimony of resiliency, faith, and purpose. Thank you Eleanor for the lessons, relationships, and memories that will be with me for a lifetime.

May 9th at 12:00pm in Barnhill Arena I will finally get to receive my nursing pin and start my nursing journey. Catch me in the ICU! by @daaang.dana

THE PHINEST things take time…

Still overwhelmed with all the love and support that’s been shown since my welcoming into nun other than the Phirst and Phinest African American sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated. Special shout out to @aye_yo_brezy and all my big sisters that have continued to inspire me with their service and show me so much love. Huge thank you to my pros and 20 new sisters for welcoming me into this lifetime bond and being by my side. My support system throughout this journey has been everything. Can’t wait to keep showing my hardwork and dedication towards the Kappa Iota Chapter and the University of Arkansas.
