The BRVM closed September higher, but the rally was far narrower than the headline indices suggest. The Composite gained 3.29% to 548.38, while the BRVM 30 rose 3.99% and the Prestige index advanced 4.66%. ⁠

Equity market capitalization climbed by about XOF 1.03 trillion to XOF 21.50 trillion. Yet market breadth remained weak: 34 of 47 stocks declined during the month, versus just 12 gainers.⁠

Sonatel led the market, surging 22.95% to XOF 45,000. BICI Côte d’Ivoire gained 9.05% Africa Global Logistics rose 7.68%. At the other end, NEI-CEDA fell 23.08%, while SAFCA and Sucrivoire dropped more than 21%. September also welcomed Bridge Bank Group Côte d’Ivoire to the BRVM after a 142%-subscribed IPO.⁠
