I took this picture Saturday after a powerful storm rolled through. The rain was intense, the wind was blowing hard, tree limbs fell to the ground, and our lights flickered on and off. The storm may have only lasted 30–45 minutes, but while it was happening, it felt incredibly powerful. Later, on my way to the store, I looked in my rearview mirror and saw this beautiful rainbow. And, when I arrived at the store, it was sitting beautifully in the sky.

Since I was a little girl, I’ve always loved seeing rainbows appear in the sky. Back then, I would wonder if there really was a pot of gold waiting at the end, just like in the storybooks. 😊 But my grandmother also taught me at a very young age that the rainbow represents God’s divine covenant with humanity. His promise that He would never again flood the entire earth.

As I’ve gotten older, the rainbow has come to symbolize something even more personal for me... a reminder that storms don't last forever. Whatever difficult situation I may be facing, eventually, the storm will pass. The winds will settle. The rain will stop. And sometimes, when I least expect it, God will give me a reminder that He is still there.

There are moments when I feel like God is taking too long to answer my prayers. But I have to remind myself that His timing is not my timing. What may feel like a delay could actually be His protection, preparation, and perfect timing.

So, I’ll keep praying. I’ll keep trusting. I’ll keep believing. Because eventually, the storm passes… and the rainbow appears.

Today, I had the pleasure of attending and supporting my colleague, @belab_art , at her incredible art exhibit, Biophilia: Exploring the Connection Between Art, Technology, and Nature.

Each piece was beautifully created, thoughtfully detailed, and a true reflection of Bela’s creativity, talent, and dedication to her craft. It is always inspiring to witness someone you know bring their vision to life, and I couldn’t be prouder of her hard work and this amazing accomplishment.

Bela, congratulations! I’m excited to see the doors that continue to open for you and where your creativity takes you next!

Today's workout was brought to you by "I'm too tired to work out today." and "Bitch, who cares?! Get your ass in there!" 🤣🤣 The hardest part of working out is literally SHOWING UP! Because once I make it to the gym parking lot, I will sit in my car for a good 5 minutes trying to come up with EVERY excuse to drive right back out of there and say, "I'll try again tomorrow."
Then I remember I just wasted gas AND time driving over here... cuss myself out a little bit... and finally walk my ass inside. By the end of the workout, it ends up being exactly what I needed after a long workday.

Moral of the story: You don't have to feel like doing it. You just have to show up. The motivation can catch up with you later! 🥰

Happy Birthday to my beautiful Mom, affectionately known as Memaw, not only to her grandchildren, but to just about everyone she comes in contact with!

My mom is truly one of my greatest inspirations. She gives me the drive to keep pushing, keep growing, and keep reaching toward my greatest heights. She’s my counselor, my sounding board, and definitely my phone call on the way home when I’ve had a little too much of a good time! She listens to me vent, lets me tell my stories, and somehow thinks everything I say is hilarious, which makes my heart happy because there’s nothing better than hearing her laugh.

I pray this next year brings my Mom more life, more joy, more laughter, more spunk, and countless blessings. As long as she’s still calling the shots, speaking her mind, and raising a little hell for the betterment of her community, I know everything is alright! 😂

Happy Birthday, Memaw! Keep being exactly who you are, because there is truly only ONE of you! 🎂🥳❤️

I'm done with Chat GPT!!! BUT, why did it describe me so accurately 🤣🤣

😂 Okay, Friend! If I were warning someone before they met you for the first time, I’d say:

“Okay, before you meet Dacia, there are a few things you need to know. 😂

First, she’s going to read the room before the room even realizes it’s being read. Don’t confuse her being quiet with her not paying attention. She notices EVERYTHING—the energy, the tone, the body language, the little slick comment you thought nobody caught. She caught it. 😂

She’s warm, funny, expressive, and genuinely loves people. If she likes you, you’re probably going to feel like you’ve known her much longer than you actually have. She’s a storyteller, a connector, and the type of person who naturally wants people to feel included and seen.

But here’s the warning: please come correct. 😂 She can be professional, gracious, and diplomatic, but she also has a strong sense of who she is. She’s not going to shrink herself just to make somebody else comfortable.

She loves HARD. Family, friends, celebrations, milestones—she’s big on creating memories and making people feel special. If there’s a birthday, anniversary, wedding, fundraiser, dinner, or random reason to celebrate, somehow Dacia is going to turn it into an EVENT. 😂

She’s also ambitious. She’s constantly thinking about what’s next—career moves, writing, storytelling, community work, events, new opportunities, and ways to turn the things she cares about into something meaningful.

And one more thing: do not mistake kindness for weakness. She’ll give grace, she’ll remain professional, and she may even smile through something—but that does NOT mean she didn’t notice what happened.

Basically, you’re about to meet a woman who can discuss HR and career strategy at 2:00, plan an entire event at 4:00, write an inspirational Instagram post at 6:00, and by 8:00 be somewhere laughing with her people like she didn’t just handle 47 things that day. 😂

Oh—and she WILL ask ChatGPT to clean up the grammar afterward. Because apparently I’m on payroll over here. 😭😂

AZ put on an incredible show last night at City Winery! He is still one of the greatest lyricists of my era, and hearing those classics instantly took me back to a time when life felt simpler and hip-hop was rooted in storytelling, substance, and authenticity.

The venue was packed with Gen X representing! The energy was unmatched as the crowd rapped every single bar, lyric for lyric, word for word. It wasn't just a concert, it was a celebration of an unforgettable era in music.

Sometimes it's amazing how clearly you can recognize when negativity, manipulation, or distraction tries to find its way into your life. That's why I thank God daily for the gift of discernment, wisdom, and the foundation of prayer that was poured into me by the generations before me.

I've learned that not every situation deserves a response. Sometimes silence isn't weakness—it's obedience. And often, your peace will disturb what was sent to distract you. That's okay, because when you know God is working behind the scenes, you don't have to fight every battle.

If you're facing manipulation, disrespect, envy, or opposition, stay encouraged. Keep your character intact, protect your peace, and continue to smile. Your breakthrough may be closer than you realize.

Remember: what the enemy intended for evil, God will always use for your good. Keep trusting, keep praying, and keep moving forward. Your victory is already in motion. 🙏🏾

This birthday season has been one for the books. Instead of celebrating one day, I chose to celebrate all month long—and every moment has been filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

It all began with a birthday dinner surrounded by family and close friends before heading home to Charleston, where I was blessed to spend even more quality time with family and lifelong friends. We laughed until our stomachs hurt, shared great meals, reminisced about old memories, and created beautiful new ones.

Back in Atlanta, the celebration continued with an unforgettable evening at the Cabaret. We danced, laughed, and even met incredible people from near and far. From enjoying the excitement of the FIFA Fan Fest, to celebrating the birthdays of other amazing summer babies, this month has been filled with joy, connection, and gratitude.

As I reflect on this month, I'm reminded that life isn't just about the milestones—it's about the people who make the journey so meaningful. Every hug, every conversation, every photo, and every shared laugh reminded me just how blessed I am.

And guess what? July isn't over yet! I plan to enjoy every remaining moment because this year... I'm leaving no crumbs on the table. I'm embracing every opportunity, every adventure, and every blessing that comes my way.

To everyone who celebrated with me, called, texted, prayed for me, or simply showed love—thank you from the bottom of my heart. You helped make my birthday season one I'll cherish forever.

Lately, I've been reflecting on the incredible experiences God has allowed me to create over the years.

From planning fundraisers that brought awareness to important causes like human trafficking, to creating a platform where inspiring women and men share their journeys, passions, gifts, and purpose... from giving men a safe space to talk about protecting their mental health, to being featured on media platforms where I shared my love for storytelling and building meaningful connections—every experience has prepared me for what's next.

At my core, I am, and always will be, a storyteller.

I'm excited to return to what I love most: capturing the stories of people who are boldly walking in their purpose and turning their passions into lifelong careers. Stories of faith. Stories of survival. Stories of growth. Stories that remind us what's possible.

I'm also excited to begin sharing more of my journey through my personal journal on my blog. I recently had the honor of writing a contributing article for The Black Voices Newspaper in South Carolina about my best friend and me traveling to South Africa—a reminder that every experience has a story worth telling.

I stepped away for a season to accomplish another important goal, but now it's time to get back to work.

This next chapter will include collaborations with incredible women, inspiring forums, motivational events, and continuing to support others as they pursue their dreams.

The fall is going to be AMAZING, and I can't wait to take you along for the journey!
