Apparently, the Crimson Mask has officially entered the AI power-scaling arena. 😂

I asked AI whether my character Crimson Mask from All Kings Must Die could defeat Jaime Lannister and Aragorn.

The verdict:
⚔️ Crimson Mask vs. Jaime Lannister: Crimson Mask wins decisively.
⚔️ Crimson Mask vs. Aragorn: Aragorn wins, but with high difficulty.

I’ll take it.

Considering All Kings Must Die is still being published and the Crimson Mask has nowhere near the decades of established lore surrounding these characters, I’m actually pretty happy that AI has enough information about him to make the comparison at all.

Of course, now my competitive side is kicking in.

Apparently, I need to throw a few more monsters, undead armies, and Eldritch horrors at the Crimson Mask until AI Overview finally decides Aragorn is screwed too. 😂

The worldbuilding continues.

GORAKU — LANZA'S BODYGUARD

Nine feet tall. Built like a siege engine. And usually standing somewhere very close to Captain Lanza.

Goraku is an Ogre, serving as Lanza's personal bodyguard during the Naddastrian invasion of Leedoria. Towering over the soldiers around him, he possesses the kind of raw strength that turns a single warrior into a battlefield weapon.

Where ordinary soldiers need axes, ladders, and numbers to break through an enemy position, Goraku can sometimes provide the simpler solution: Goraku.

His role is equally straightforward. Protect Lanza. Break anything that gets too close. And make anyone considering an assassination attempt reconsider their career choices.

He may march beneath the banners of Naddastria, but Goraku isn't simply another soldier in its army.

He's the thing standing behind the captain.

And when the fighting begins, the living siege engine starts moving.

SEKUYA — THE SPECIALIST

Some call her a demon.

They're wrong.

Sekuya is a Kitsune. And a Kitsune is just a fox maiden.

Assigned to Captain Lanza's company as a scout and infiltration specialist, Sekuya goes where ordinary soldiers cannot. She can move through enemy territory unnoticed, gather intelligence, track targets, and disappear before anyone realizes she was there.

Her speed and reflexes border on the impossible. On the battlefield, men sometimes swear she moved before they even saw her move. Others whisper that no human being could possibly be that fast.

They're right about one thing.

Sekuya isn't human.

She can take the form of a fox, but there are no fox ears or tails to betray her while she walks among humans. To most who encounter her, she is simply another woman traveling beneath the blood moon.

By the time they realize otherwise, The Specialist has usually already completed her mission.

LIEUTENANT KAIVAR — NADDASTRIAN ARMY

A minor noble by birth. A soldier by choice. And a man who has never encountered a problem he didn't think could be solved with enough brute force.

Lieutenant Kaivar serves as Captain Lanza's first lieutenant during the Naddastrian invasion of Leedoria. Where Lanza tends to think before committing his men, Kaivar is far more comfortable meeting the enemy head-on with a dadao in one hand and a shield in the other.

He's a brutal brawler, an intimidating officer, and the man Lanza relies upon to keep the soldiers in line when discipline begins to break down.

Kaivar may carry a noble title, but there is very little refinement about the way he fights.

Some officers command from behind the line.

Kaivar would rather break it himself.

CAPTAIN DARGYEN — THIRD COASTAL COMPANY

When Dàiren and the survivors of Heshin Village fled north, exhausted and displaced by the horrors consuming their home, they encountered the soldiers of Shibaro's Third Coastal Company.

Their commander was Captain Dargyen.

Rather than leave the refugees to fend for themselves as war spread across the kingdom, Dargyen and his company took them under their protection and led them safely toward Castle Shibaro.

For Dàiren, it was one of his first encounters with the soldiers fighting to defend his homeland, and the beginning of a journey that would carry him far beyond Heshin.

Dargyen isn't fighting for conquest or glory.

He's fighting to get his people home alive.

SERGEANT BRENKAI — THIRD COASTAL COMPANY

When Naddastria invaded the Kingdom of Shibaro, Sergeant Brenkai stood between the enemy and the people fleeing north.

A veteran of the Third Coastal Company, Brenkai is a professional soldier hardened by years of service. He isn't a legendary swordsman, a powerful mage, or a noble-born hero. He's a sergeant who knows how to hold a line, keep soldiers alive, and continue fighting when everything around him is falling apart.

When Shibaro falls, his war doesn't end.

His path eventually crosses with Dàiren and the Crownless Blades, carrying him far beyond the kingdom he once swore to defend and into battles against enemies far worse than the Naddastrian soldiers who came from across the sea.

Some heroes are remembered because they conquered kingdoms.

Others are remembered because they refused to abandon the people standing beside them.

RASHIRA — THE WITCH

No one knows where Rashira came from or how long she has walked the world.

Rumors say she is immortal. Others whisper that she is a demon wearing the shape of a woman. Some ancient stories go further, claiming she was once the concubine of Yama himself.

What is known is enough to make kings fear her.

Rashira possesses the power to bend monsters to her will, commanding creatures that ordinary armies struggle to contain. Yet her true motives remain her own, and those who believe they understand her may discover they know far less than they imagined.

Is she a witch? A demon? An immortal?

Or something much older?

NARAKESH — THE VARASHIAN OCCULTIST

The dead are not his enemy. They are his army.

Narakesh is a Varashian occultist and necromancer. He is one of the most dangerous figures fighting alongside Naddastria. Where other commanders require soldiers who eat, sleep, tire, and fear death, Narakesh commands an army that does none of those things. Every battlefield can provide him with new recruits. Every graveyard is a potential arsenal.

Brilliant, arrogant, and fiercely independent, Narakesh serves his own purposes even when they align with Naddastria's war. He has spent a lifetime studying death and believes there are few forces beyond his understanding, and even fewer beyond his control.

Now his search is drawing him toward something far older than necromancy: the Yamalaya.

Narakesh believes even the Yamalayan dead can be mastered.

He may be about to discover that some things were never meant to obey.
