Save this if you’ve quit every program at week three. I did too, for 20 years, and this is the only thing that ever stuck. by @dadgetsjacked

Quick one. The back is healing but the rules right now are no lifting over 2 kg, so the kettlebells are parked for a while.

The streak doesn’t stop. Under 20 minutes a day still stands. I just need a new 20 minutes.

What I’m asking for: your best mobility work, light strength, anything that rebuilds a back without loading it. Bodyweight, bands, a 2 kg weight, floor work. If you’re a trainer or a physical therapist, or you’ve been through this yourself, drop it in the comments. I’ll pick the best suggestions and run them on camera this week, and I’ll say who sent them.

I’m not an expert. I’m the guy who finally stayed consistent for the first time in his life and then bent down to pick up his baby. So I’m taking help on this

Day 94 for me. Could be day 1 for you.

Every day. Under 20 min. Hold me to it by @dadgetsjacked

9 signs you’re going to end up like your dad (plus a bonus one)

1.	You’ve started every program on earth.
P90X, Insanity, the app, the other app. Week three is where they all live now.

The cost: you’ve spent 20 years in week one.

2.	You said “after the baby.”
Then you had another baby.

The cost: there is always a baby.

3.	You laughed off your back.
Bent down for a toddler, something popped, you made a joke about being old.

The cost: that’s the exact joke he made at your age.

4.	You call it “too busy.”
Work, farm, church, five kids, all real. But you found 20 minutes for your phone tonight.

The cost: the one thing that needs 20 minutes never gets them.

5.	You’re waiting to want it.
You think motivated people feel something you don’t.

The cost: you’ll be waiting at 58, same as 38.

6.	You think you need more discipline.
You don’t. You need to hide the hard thing inside something you already love.

The cost: you keep trying to fix the wrong part.

7.	You keep it private.
Nobody knows you started, so nobody knows you quit.

The cost: quitting is free, and you’ve been buying it in bulk.

8.	You’re planning the perfect program.
Spreadsheet, split, macros. Day one keeps moving.

The cost: a bad workout today beats a perfect one in March.

9.	You measure yourself against the guys on here.
They’re 24 and single. You have multiple kids and a newborn.

The cost: you compare, feel behind, and skip.

10.	You think you have time.
My dad hurt his back at the age I am right now. This year he’s spent more days in a hospital than at home. Then I finally started and am now fighting through two herniated discs and Sacroiliitis.

The cost: I’m not finding out. I’m on day 93 of this journey follow so I can’t quit quietly by @dadgetsjacked

7 days ago I was really disappointed with where I was. I’ve made tons of progress and feeling great and then all of a sudden found myself on the floor not able to move. The fear that I’d end up like my dad was all I could think about but I pushed on and pivoted my content and my mindset. Tons of DMs and comments that flooded in from this community was a huge part of keeping my eyes on the goal. Glad I’m finally feeling relief and it was only a short time of intense pain. Im now wiser and in a better place mentally and physically when it comes to my physical fitness journey.

Thanks for being here and if you are new click on the linked reel to see where I was and where I’m headed by @dadgetsjacked

Day 93 for me. Could be Day 1 for you.

I have about 60 before photos on my phone from the last five years and not one of them ever got an after. Nobody was judging those. I was. Turns out the only person who ever cared that I quit was the guy who quit.

So if you’ve been putting off the first workout, the first video, the first anything because of who might see it, this is your sign that nobody’s looking that hard. Come do this with me.

Every day. Under 20 min. Hold me to it.

Took me 20 years and a back injury to want this.

Day 90 of seeing if a dad of five can get jacked in under 20 minutes a day. Sat in the x-ray waiting room scrolling Instagram and every video was somebody swinging a kettlebell, and I was jealous. Three months ago I’d have been relieved to have an excuse. If you know a guy who keeps saying he’ll start when life calms down, send him this. Follow so I can’t quit quietly.

Every day. Under 20 min. Hold me to it.

What I said at the end is the part I almost didn’t post.

Day 89 of seeing if a dad of five can get jacked in under 20 minutes a day. Two days ago my back went out picking up my baby, and today I spent an hour and a half at physical therapy instead of doing my workout. Not how I pictured day 89.

If you’ve ever finally locked in on something and then had your body tap out on you, send this to the guy who’d get it. You’re not the only one.

Still here. Follow so I can’t quit quietly.

Every day. Under 20 min. Hold me to it.

This is how it started. 4 am, sitting in the dark, holding my head, trying to find a position where my back would stop screaming. I never found one.

Yesterday I bent down to pick up my baby and something in my lower back let go. Not a workout injury. Not a kettlebell. A dad picking up his kid.

I made it 86 days. Down 11 kg. Back at the weight I was when I got married. Seven hundred of you watching. That is the longest I have stayed with anything physical in my whole life, after 20 years of quitting everything around week three.

And at 4 am I was terrified it was over. Not frustrated. Terrified.

Then it hit me sitting there in the dark. My dad hurt his back when he was younger than I am now. One injury, and it slowly took the next thirty years from him. That was the exact thing I was trying to stop. That is why I started this. And here I am, holding onto a counter to walk.

I got a massage and tecar treatment yesterday. This afternoon I see a physical therapist to find out what’s actually going on. I don’t know what they’re going to tell me.

This might be the end for me. I’m not going to sit here and promise you it isn’t. Maybe it’s a week. Maybe it’s the thing that puts me on the same road I watched my dad go down. I don’t know.

But I do know what I’m feeling and experiencing right now absolutely sucks and super humbling. My kids seeing me crawl around on the floor just to move about. 😔

Btw I had zero warning this would happen. No prior pain or tweaked back etc. just all of a sudden. Hopefully it’s not my last day of this journey … by @dadgetsjacked
