Dado Ćosić Wins the Golden Arena at the 73rd Pula Film Festival 🔥

We proudly congratulate our #slavicartists client Dado Ćosić on winning the prestigious Golden Arena for the Best Lead Actor at the 73rd Pula Film Festival for his outstanding performance as Lovro Horvat in Ivona Juka’s feature film BEAUTIFUL EVENING, BEAUTIFUL DAY (Lijepa večer, lijep dan).

The jury honored Ćosić with the festival’s highest acting award, stating: “For an exceptionally courageous, sensual, and compelling performance that unites artistic passion, inner vulnerability and the dignity of a man confronted with repression, the Golden Arena for the Best Lead Actor is awarded to Dado Ćosić for his portrayal of Lovro in Beautiful Evening, Beautiful Day.”

Directed by Ivona Juka, BEAUTIFUL EVENING, BEAUTIFUL DAY is a powerful drama set in 1950s Yugoslavia. The story follows four close friends and celebrated filmmakers whose sexual orientation makes them targets of political suspicion. As a loyal Communist Party operative is assigned to dismantle their lives, their pursuit of artistic and personal freedom becomes a fight for survival.

The film was selected as Croatia’s official submission for the 97th Academy Awards in the Best International Feature Film category.

Croatian diva Gabi Novak (1936-2025) began her career as a voice actress, dubbing animated films. Soon after, her beautiful voice gained recognition with the songs "Sretan Put" (Bon Voyage/Have a Nice Journey) and "Ljubav ili Šala" (Love or Jest).

Her song "Sretan Put" was featured in the classic Croatian film H-8 (1958). When writing the script for "Beautiful Evening, Beautiful Day," I immediately thought of "Ljubav ili Šala" because its lyrics resonate deeply with the story on multiple levels.

Though she has left us, her remarkable work will continue to inspire all of us. Rest in peace, dear Gabi.

Love discovering surprises, reviews coming from different parts of the world, which means that the film has its journey.
Daniel Garber wrote a wonderful review: “The film boasts excellent acting and stunning B&W cinematography by Dragan Ruljančić. It sheds light on a topic which until now has been virtually non-existent in Yugoslavian cinema. This is an excellent indie movie that deserves to be seen.”
I am very proud of my actors and the DOP @ruljancici, who truly deserve recognition. I also have to comment on Daniel Garber for pronouncing our names so well in the audio review—Bravo, Daniel! 🫶

Ide ovako:
Zajedno s @hybridproject.miha i @vanillas.way zadnjih puno mjeseca sam pripremao @istria100 utrku na 110km trail trčanja. Zbog nekih terminskih zavrzalama sam u trenutku prijave ostao bez slota, utrka je bila rasprodana pa sam prijavio utrku na 168km pa smo prilagodili treninge.
Vanserijsko, nadrealno, prekrasno iskustvo. Pogotovo trčanje noću, neprepričljivo. I ustvari, svi se utrkuju sami sa sobom i svi su u konstantnom pregovaranju sa samim sobom da li stati ili nastaviti.
Najponosniji sam na svoju glavu i na trenutke mira koje sam osjećao u trenucima napora i kako sam u potencijalno vrlo zeznutim situacijama imao na raspolaganju znanje, a ne paniku. U jednu trenutku sam krenuo sa okrepne stanice i presao vec nekih 2km a da si nisam natočio vodu. Od nekud mi je došlo da disanje na nos smanjuje žeđ i umiruje kortizol, i to je mozda 14,5km na koje sam najponosniji. Do sljedece okrepne stanice sam došao bez potrebe za vodom.
Utrku nisam završio. Morao sam stati na 104.kilometru jer su mi koljena prethodnih 20km velikih nizbrdica signalizirala da dalje ne ide, i na 104km vise nisam mogao ni gore ni dolje. Organizacija (ljudi, svaka vam čast!) i HGSS su došli po mene.
Dobio sam iskustvo koje me zanimalo, šta to znači biti 24h u kretanju i htio sam prvi put to napraviti sam, bez supporta. Organizacijski sam to dosta dobro izveo medjutim mislim da bi me druga glava, odmorna, pravilnim savjetom u pravom trenutku natjerala da stanem i time bi mozda pristedio koljena za doci do kraja. Boli me sve, ali glava je bistra. U pripremama sam pretrčao maksimalno 50km. Tako da je tih nepoznatih 50km do 100. kilometra bila škola kakvu nigdje nisam dobio. Glava je položila ispit, i to mi je najvažnije.
Ako bude vremena za pripremu, @istria100 vidimo se sljedeće godine.
@kucateteane mi je složila divne sengulice i pite od jabuka (bez pite ne ide!), @tutto_magija ugostio prije utrke a @lukazaro i @zarowines omogućili da se onesvjestima poslije utrke na 10 sati.
@hybridproject.miha je veliki car i Beograđani, volio bih da znate da u gradu imate takvog jednog carčinu i trenera, šteta bi bilo da vas mimoiđe. taken in Umag, Croatia by @dadocosic
