Belonging is both a homecoming and a responsibility.

Last Tuesday, our founder Micha-Rose Emmett joined the stage alongside an inspiring group of women to speak about belonging, womanhood and empowerment.

She reflected on the many places we belong:
to our families,
to the women who came before us,
to our communities,
and to the experiences that make each of us who we are.

But belonging is not only something we receive.
It is also something we can create for someone else.

To notice the person standing alone.
To pull out a chair.
To make room at the table.
To remind another woman that she does not have to prove herself to belong.

Once we know what welcome feels like, we can pass it on.

That idea sits deeply within the purpose of Daffodils for Doris.
Creating spaces where more women feel seen, supported and able to move forward.
After all, belonging becomes powerful when we share it.

An evening centred on women, community and connection 🌼

Last week, Daffodils for Doris had the privilege of being part of Women in Conversation, alongside Tamaris London and Kaylee Bareti, at Tramp in Mayfair.

The evening brought together an extraordinary group of women for honest conversations around relationships, financial independence, leadership, resilience and the experiences that shape our lives.

We heard from Luke Scarratt and Victoria Hingston, whose conversation opened the room to thoughtful, personal and sometimes wonderfully candid discussion.

Our founder, Micha-Rose Emmett, also shared the story behind Daffodils for Doris.

The story of her mother, Doris, and the belief that ultimately inspired this charity: that education can change the course of a woman’s life, but none of us should have to navigate that journey alone.

The evening also included a silent auction in support of Daffodils for Doris, with experiences and pieces generously contributed across art, hospitality, wine, wellness and jewellery.

Every bid placed helped support the work we are building.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated, bid, spoke, attended and helped make the evening possible.

This was more than an event.
It was a reminder of what becomes possible when women share their experience, open doors for one another and choose to build community together.
