Its here and its beautiful! Twenty years of the first album I had to wait for. Twenty years of my first tour. First show. Nearly two years ago, I read a book while immersing myself within the audio. It was my first time doing both at the same time. Sometimes books move you. Sometimes they change something within you when you read them. Sometimes they make breakfast food an enemy (IYKYK)While the first photo is meant to be humorous since I have been unable to eat or look at pancakes the same way since I read this book, please know that this book is the opposite of a lighthearted piece of fiction. Under Your Scars, both the book and the audio, is a force. The words put to paper by @ariel.n.anderson are raw, dark, and emotional. Those words were brought to life in a way I had never experienced before by @therealjoearden and @leedanielsvo. Im still not over listening to those final chapters. To this day, this book is the only book I own four copies of because of how much I love it, but have yet to bring myself to reread it or listen again. (Though, I want to annotate one copy so that day is coming).Naturally at the two year release mark I decided to finally pay tribute to a book that moved me deeply and was completely unforgettable by doing what I do. I fairy-fied it.Congratulations on two years, Ariel, and thank you so much to the narrators who gave it their all during that performance. ⭐️Please, please, please check your triggers. Ive been reading this series since October and I finally finished it a couple nights ago. THIS is how you build a world and write a set of unforgettable, flawed, well rounded characters. My emotions went through all the emotions I couldve possibly emotioned. I laughed. I cried. I fist-pumped. I cussed. I threw the book. (Chapter 56 of Goldfinch, IYKYK). @ravenkennedybooks isnt scared to write a book and do what she needs to do for the story despite how much you as a reader may want otherwise. You will get attached to characters. Some of those characters will not make it...and it will suuuuuck, but it makes a damn good story. I could go on and on about this, but if you want a slow burn, a vast world, rich characters, and immaculate storytelling, please do yourself a favor and read it.
