Alive 1997 was officially released on October 1, 2001, through Virgin Records.

This was also Daft Punk’s first major tour, known as the Daftendirektour, which took place primarily between 1997 and 1998 during the promotional tour for Homework.

The recording was made at The Que Club in Birmingham, United Kingdom, and has a total running time of 45 minutes.

“Dream Concerts” / “Concert de rêves” was a series of posters for concerts that never took place. Saraiva imagines impossible combinations of musicians and bands he would like to see share the stage and presents them as if they were real concert announcements.

The project deliberately plays with the boundary between reality and fiction: the posters include real venues—such as Madison Square Garden, The Wiltern, L’Élysée Montmartre, and Brixton Academy—and dates, but the years are usually omitted.

One of the “Dream Concerts” that generated the most buzz was a Parisian poster announcing:

Daft Punk + Air + Justice + other names from the French Touch scene at L’Élysée Montmartre.

The poster appeared on the streets of Paris in 2013 and led some people to believe it might be a real concert

Human After All was produced in about six weeks. After the elaborate sound of Discovery, Daft Punk wanted to experiment with something much rawer, more minimalist, and repetitive, blending electronic music with guitars and an almost industrial aesthetic.

· @thomasbangalter explained that they were drawn to the idea of making an album that was the opposite of the elaborate, pop-oriented character of Discovery.

· Speed was part of the concept. In a later interview, Bangalter went so far as to describe the process as something along the lines of: “Human After All was perhaps made in 12 days,” precisely because they wanted to recapture the spontaneity of rock and garage albums.

· In interviews attributed to the duo, they explained that they wanted to reflect their vision of society and that some songs had a deliberately totalitarian character, as a sort of response to the music and messages that the system implants in our minds

· The concept of “human” was important. The tension between machine and humanity was not accidental. Years later, Bangalter explained that Daft Punk’s robotic image served as a metaphor for the integration of technology and art, but it also had an unsettling side: a world entirely populated by robots would be terrifying.

It has been 10 years since the release of “Starboy,” the iconic single by The Weeknd featuring Daft Punk. It was released on September 21, 2016, as the first single from the self-titled album.

The song was recorded in both Los Angeles and Paris, including at Gang Studios.
