On Peace Medal, the horizon is defined by the heat of the aftermath. Dahjyn (Dan Ahrendt) presents a topography of scorched Americana and industrial erosion where the tempo slows to a sedimentary drag, mimicking the physical sensation of walking through deep ash. Collaborators Jesse Osborne-Lanthier and Asaël Richard-Robitaille construct a fidelity that feels deliberately compromised—marked by the texture of rust and tensile failure.

It is a token of survival that refuses to shine, reflecting a world where “peace” is simply the moment violence solidifies into memory. Merging cultural displacement with intense physical trauma, Ahrendt fuses songwriting, electronic experimentation, and doom of both guttural and beatific origins into a grand sonic calamity. It is a work suspended between comfort and anger: a “blanket to brawl in” for any who have lost a world, or those still searching for theirs.

UNFEELING will open Monday 10/5 at @tveyenyc for @leilaabdulrauf (CA) and @vaelastrasz (VA) with additional support from @dahjyn.

The liminal dark ambient project of NYC artist Derek Rush (Dream Into Dust, A Murder Of Angels, Izolat) was begun in bed in March 2020. It is only created while half asleep, lying down, and using electronics, effects, contact-miked objects, and processed feedback.

LEILA ABDUL-RAUF brings her dark cinematic music to Ridgewood on October 5. She is a composer and multi-instrumentalist based in the Bay Area creating with voice, trumpet, and electronics, accessing what is often unconscious and obscured by the human condition.

As a solo artist, Leila has released six full-length albums under her name, as well as five as a main songwriter, guitarist, vocalist, lyricist and co-founder of acclaimed extreme metal band @vastum_official and three with electronic ambient trio @ionophore_official. She has toured internationally, including notable festivals such as Northwest Terror Fest.

Double debut at @hartbarnyc this Tues in the first early-show edition of ENTELECHY.

ENTIA, the interactive morphogenetic organism/entity I’ve been working on, will also be on display with its playable interface, through which you can explore the many form-state semblances it can shift through, including neurons, vascular networks, fire, tree and root systems, angelic sprites, and much more. Future iterations will include biosignal inputs such as heart rate and EEG. Come experience ENTIA in its nascent form :)
