My first introduction to gender neutral norms was at home and the credit for that goes to both my mom and dad equally. Dad is more like me, he is composed and patient, and does not like getting into fights. He has never told me to do anything or become like anyone he himself became someone who sets an example for me to follow. He loves cooking, discussing all kinds of movies with me and photography. We both will ditch everything for a trip to the hills. I was never told to be a certain way and never expected to do things differently because I am a girl.
We as a family are not very sappy and lack the flair of expressing love for each other but he knows.

Maharaja Tomare Selam.

When people talk about Satyajit Ray their sentences end with Apu Triology.
Pather Panchali and Apur Sansar have been appreciated throughout the world from international directors to modern age actors, talk about how raw yet inspiring these films are.

But I have always been a fan of Aparajita. The triology revolves around the life of it's protagonist 'Apu' who actually grows into a man from a child through the scope of the triology.

What makes Aparajita special is that when apu loses his sister he is too young to fathom the feeling of loss, he is hurt but time heals him faster. When Apu loses his wife, he is a grown man who knows the harsh reality of the world who has many bruises in his soul and although aparna's loss is the deepest cut but his fatherhood made him strong. But in Aparajito when apu loses both his parents, he is at the tender period 9f adolescence where he could feel the shock and yet was not mature enough to engulf it. At one go he loses the shelter over his head, at a very young age when kids worry about their studies he has to earn and educate himself at the same time.

The apu in #aparajita amazed me, his strength astounded me and left me questioning that if he could gather the courage of living his life even after losing his entire family why can't I get over my mental health issues?

Must visit @benneco.official 📍Beside Haldiram Rabindra sadan.

I just wish they had a bigger space with more seats.
