The Hangman’s Luck

My boy Jake "The Drifter" Malone is standing on the gallows with a noose around his neck. Whole town thinks he robbed the bank, but he knows it was the Clayton Gang. The sheriff reads the verdict, they pull the lever, and he drops...

BANG!

A single rifle shot cracks through the air and snaps the rope right before it breaks his neck! The crowd loses it as a masked rider on a black stallion comes charging in, guns blazing. It's Jake's old partner, Lone Pete, and he's got the real thief, Clint Clayton, tied over his saddle. Sheriff doesn't know what to do, the mob is whispering, and Jake gets to live another day. Phew.

Built this scene for RampageRally Challenge #3, all about that high-stakes action and storytelling. Had a blast bringing this western last-second rescue to life!
