It’s good to know you’ve got someone in your corner. For me, that often comes with four paws, a waggy tail and absolutely no qualifications whatsoever in coaching. 😂

But there’s something rather lovely about knowing someone is there beside you, whether you’re having a wobble, trying to work something out or wondering what on earth you’re doing next.

And sometimes, that’s what coaching can offer, too.

Not someone who swoops in with all the answers, tells you how to live your life or hands you a ten-step plan to become a shiny new version of yourself. But someone who listens, helps you untangle the thoughts going round and round in your head, asks the questions you might not have thought to ask yourself, and reminds you of what you’re capable of when you’ve temporarily forgotten.

Someone who’s in your corner, but who’ll also gently challenge you when you’re getting in your own way.

You don’t need fixing. You don’t need to have it all figured out before you start. Sometimes you just need a little space, a fresh perspective and someone alongside you while you work out your next step.

My dog is pretty good at the first bit. I’ll leave the coaching to me. 😉

Is the filing cabinet in your brain being a bit troublesome? 🗄️🧠 You know the information is in there somewhere. You know you put that thing somewhere safe. And while you’re looking for it, you’ve remembered three other things you need to do, started one of them, noticed something else that needs doing, opened your phone for completely unrelated reasons and…

…now you’re standing in the kitchen wondering why you’re holding a banana. 😂

If that sounds familiar, you might be experiencing some of the executive functioning challenges that can come with neurodivergence.

And you don’t need to have a formal diagnosis to recognise that the way you’re currently trying to organise your life isn’t working particularly well for your brain.

I’m a qualified ADHD Coach and neurodiversity trained coach, and this is something I love helping people with.

Not by trying to squeeze you into somebody else’s idea of how you should function.

But by working out:

🧠 What is actually getting in your way?
🗂️ Where are things falling through the cracks?
⏰ What makes getting started, switching tasks or managing time difficult?
💡 And what practical changes could make life run a little more smoothly?

Sometimes it’s a different system. Sometimes it’s making something visible. Sometimes it’s breaking a task down until your brain stops looking at it like it’s been asked to climb Everest. Sometimes it’s working with your brain rather than constantly fighting it.

You don’t need fixing.

We might just need to rearrange the filing system. 😉

If your brain feels like it has 47 tabs open and nobody knows which one is playing music, I’d love to help you work out what might make things easier.

Sometimes you just need to put your cape back on. And sometimes that looks far less dramatic than you might imagine.

It might be a coffee in the sunshine, drunk slowly rather than while answering emails. A walk without a podcast playing in your ears. Ten minutes sitting somewhere quiet. A chat with someone who makes you laugh. A favourite book. A bath. A horse cuddle.

Or, occasionally, 12 hours of sleep because your body has apparently submitted a formal complaint. 😂

We can be so determined to fix things, achieve things, improve things and keep everything moving that we forget we’re human beings rather than particularly enthusiastic project managers.

Sometimes we don’t need a five-year plan or a new version of ourselves.

Sometimes we just need a little space to breathe.

Because rest isn’t giving up. And a simple pleasure isn’t insignificant just because it won’t appear on your list of achievements.

Sometimes it’s exactly what allows you to come back to yourself.

And sometimes, after a cup of coffee and a little bit of calm, you remember where you left your cape. ✨

My first lawnmower. 😂🌱 I have never pushed a lawnmower before. Which feels like a slightly ridiculous thing to admit at my age, but there we are.

I grew up in a flat, on the top floor, so a garden wasn’t exactly on the cards. Then I rented rooms. Then there were houses without gardens. And for a long time, having my own garden wasn’t really something I got to choose. Life, circumstances and a controlling relationship had other ideas about what was and wasn’t possible.

And now, finally, I have a little patch of grass that is mine. So today I bought a lawnmower. And there was something unexpectedly emotional about standing there looking at it.

Because this isn’t really about mowing the lawn. It’s about all the things you don’t have when you’re younger that you quietly assume you’ll have one day.

A home that feels like yours. A garden. The freedom to choose what goes in it. The slightly boring, gloriously ordinary jobs that come with having your own little bit of the world.

And I think sometimes we get so busy chasing the big things that we forget to notice when something small represents how far we’ve actually come.

So yes, I am ridiculously pleased with my lawnmower.

I have no idea what I’m doing with it. I will probably create some sort of lawn-based disaster. But this is my grass. And I’m going to mow the bloody thing. 😂🌱

Maybe that’s your little reminder today too: Don’t overlook the ordinary things that would have felt extraordinary to an earlier version of you. by @daisy.resetcoach

What if you don’t need a whole new life? What if you just need to work out what isn’t working about the one you’ve already got?

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about why people come to coaching. Sometimes it’s because something has gone spectacularly wrong. But quite often, it hasn’t.

From the outside, everything can look absolutely fine. You’ve got the job, the family, the house, the responsibilities, things you’re supposed to be grateful for and yet there’s that little niggling feeling… Is this it?

Or perhaps: Why don’t I feel happier? What happened to my confidence? What do I actually want? Am I allowed to want something different? I know I’m capable of more, but I have absolutely no idea what “more” looks like.

I think that’s where coaching can be really useful. Not because I have a magical five-step plan for your life. But because sometimes it’s incredibly difficult to see the wood for the trees when you’re standing in the middle of them.

My job is to help you untangle the thoughts, ask some better questions, work out what matters to you, and then, importantly, turn all that lovely insight into something practical.

Because I don’t want you leaving a coaching session thinking, “Well, that was interesting.” I want you leaving thinking: “Right. I know what I’m going to do next.”

Perhaps that’s your reset.

Not becoming a completely different person. Just getting a little closer to the person you already know you could be.

And possibly wearing a ridiculously floral jacket while you do it. 😝

Sometimes a bit of filler will do. And sometimes you have to rip the whole bloody ceiling down.

This is my kitchen at the moment. It turns out that years of “we’ll just patch that bit” and “it’ll probably be fine” eventually catches up with you.

Sometimes you can cover over the cracks. Sometimes a little tweak is all that’s needed. And sometimes you have to admit that the thing underneath needs looking at properly.

I think life can be a bit like that too. We get very good at patching. We put up with things because they’re not quite bad enough to do anything about. We keep the job we don’t enjoy because it’s sensible. Stay in the situation because it’s familiar. Keep saying “maybe next year.” Tell ourselves we’re fine because, technically, everything is fine. And sometimes it is.

But occasionally you need to stop staring at the patch and ask: “Is this actually working anymore?”

Because a reset doesn’t always mean a complete demolition job. Sometimes you just need a bit of filler. Sometimes you need to move a few things around. And occasionally… you need to rip the bloody ceiling down.

The trick is knowing which one you’re dealing with.

That’s rather a lot of what coaching is about.

Not telling you to burn your life down and start again. But helping you work out what’s actually going on, what you want to change, and what the right-sized next step might be.

Meanwhile, I’ll be over here learning far more about plasterboard than I ever intended to. 😂 by @daisy.resetcoach

“You won’t be out-talented. You’ll be out-worked.”

I heard this quote recently and it got me thinking. We’re often very good at setting goals.

I want to be more confident.
I want to change careers.
I want to get fitter.
I want to stop overthinking.
I want to finally do the thing I keep talking about.

Goals are useful. They give us somewhere to head. But a goal on its own doesn’t change very much. Systems do.

It’s the small things you do repeatedly. The habits you build. The decisions you make when motivation has disappeared. The practical steps that turn “I want to…” into “I am…” And this is something I care about hugely in my coaching.

I’m not particularly interested in giving you a lovely hypothetical conversation about the person you could become and then sending you away to figure out how to get there.

You will leave my coaching sessions with something practical to do, try, think about, change, practise…

Insight is brilliant but insight + action is where things start to move.

You don’t need to overhaul your entire life tomorrow. You might just need to work out what the next small step is and build a system that makes taking it a little easier.

Your goal can be the beacon. But the system gets you there. 💫 taken in Wallingford, Oxfordshire by @daisy.resetcoach

The non-Instagram bits of life - birthday edition.

Bare walls because we’re halfway through a renovation.
No mountain of beautifully wrapped presents.
Washing-up waiting by the sink.
A slightly wonky birthday banner.

And yet… happier.

It’s funny how often we chase the shiny version of life, convinced that is where happiness lives.

Bigger. Better. Tidier. More successful. More impressive. And then sometimes you realise you actually feel better when life is a bit ordinary.

Maybe happiness isn’t about making your life look better. Maybe it’s about making your life feel better.

Just a little Sunday reminder from my very un-Instagram kitchen. ❤️ by @daisy.resetcoach

Me, quietly drinking my tea and absolutely NOT overthinking my entire life. 👀

We all need a little space to stop, breathe and hear ourselves think occasionally. Because when life is noisy, it’s surprisingly easy to lose track of what you actually want.

Not what you should want.

Not what would make everyone else happy.

Not what looks sensible on paper.

What you want.

So perhaps today’s little reminder is to take ten minutes, make a cup of tea and ask yourself:

“If I wasn’t worrying about what anyone else thought, what would I do next?”

You don’t have to act on the answer immediately.

You can just let the question sit there for a while.

Preferably alongside a biscuit. taken in Wallingford, Oxfordshire by @daisy.resetcoach

This is your reminder that you don’t have to make every moment count. Sometimes you can just… lie in the grass.

No productivity.
No goals.
No five-year plan.
No guilt.

Just grass. Sun. A football game in the distance. And a very content Bob. 🐶

Maybe we could all be a little more like Bob. Although I’m told that parents napping during the match may be frowned upon. 😝 taken in Wallingford, Oxfordshire by @daisy.resetcoach

It really is true that, so often, the biggest thing holding us back is… us.

I went for a walk tonight and saw a young boy, maybe 15, football training on a field. No fancy equipment. No perfect facilities. No excuses. Just a football, a field, some cans and bits of rubbish being used as cones. He was running lengths, timing himself, practising over and over again.

And it got me thinking…

How often do we convince ourselves that we need more before we can start? More money. More time. More confidence. More knowledge. The right circumstances.

When really, sometimes we just need to start with what we already have.

That boy wasn’t waiting for perfect conditions.

So maybe the question isn’t “What am I missing? Maybe it’s “What could I do with what I already have?”

I really hope to see him in the World Cup one day… ⚽️ taken in Wallingford, Oxfordshire by @daisy.resetcoach

The Darren Method 😏 You know that voice that suddenly appears with: “You can’t do that.” “What will people think?” “You’re not ready.” “You’ll probably make a fool of yourself.”

Give that voice a name.

Because somehow it’s much easier to challenge your inner critic when you can say: “Not now, Darren.” 😂

You don’t have to believe every thought your brain throws at you. Sometimes you just need to recognise the voice, thank it for its very unhelpful contribution… and carry on anyway.

What would you call yours? 👀
