a little western, a little indie folk 🤎 ootd before cameron whitcomb.

i love this photo, but honestly? i wanted to edit my waist a million times. between the oversized coat, my long hair and the pose, you can’t see my shape the way i’m used too when I was thinner or dressed and posed differently. suddenly, a photo i felt cute in became something i was picking apart, imagining what someone might zoom in on or judge.

it feels vulnerable admitting that. lately, even when i feel my best, there’s still that voice saying i’ve gotten “bigger and it’s time to lose weight” sometimes i’m not sure how much of it comes from other people and how much is my own fear of what they might think. because when i look at myself, i also see fuller and more plump cheeks with a glow, softer eyes, a smile that feels like myself again, and hips or legs filling out my clothes the way I once wanted compared to “fitter” periods.

i’m trying to give those feelings more room without letting other people’s preferences become rules for my body. especially when those preferences don’t even reflect what i like. some days that comes easily. other days, i’m negotiating with myself over a waist you can barely see under a coat 😂

every outfit doesn’t need to show curves or how snatched your waist is today, and every photo doesn’t need to prove anything about our bodies. i can dress casually, lean into the western, indie folk vibe i love, and still feel cute.

i wonder how many of us have loved a photo until we started imagining what other people might think. i’m sharing this while i’m still working through it, because i want to let myself keep loving it 🤎

As someone who studied cosmetics and went to cosmetology school to become an esthetician I’ve developed a real interest in skin health, so I’m always looking at skincare from more than just a surface level perspective.

So when dermalogica sent me a gift, I got to try Dermalogica’s Smart Eye Density Serum. I was really excited because it focuses on something we don’t talk about enough: undereye skin density and firmness.

As we age, the skin around our eyes can become thinner, making hollowness, fine lines and dark circles appear more noticeable.

What makes this formula interesting is its growth factor complex. Growth factors are signalling molecules involved in skin repair and processes related to collagen production. The idea is to support healthier looking skin over time, rather than just temporarily moisturize the surface.

It also contains hyaluronic acid to help hydrate and visibly plump the undereye area.

And for anyone who’s been considering undereye filler but wants to explore a less invasive option first, I think this is a really interesting product to look into.

Obviously, skincare can’t replace lost volume the way filler can, but improving skin quality is a different approach to rejuvenation, and I’m excited to see how this performs with continued use.

Where do I even START!!!???

My goal this summer was literally… leave the house 😂 I have THE worst social anxiety, and there’s so much I want to experience that I sometimes talk myself out of before I even get out the door. This summer I wanted to give myself more chances to actually do those things 🤎

And somehow that turned into…

🥹 Visiting my brother @mauricemoore in LA, who I missed SOOO much!!
🌵 Missed our flight so spent a night in Palm Springs + self portrait photoshoot
🐾 Dog-lover heaven at The @goldengetawayfarm in Joshua Tree + stargazing
🧘🏽‍♀️ Yoga in San Francisco Airport
🎶 Montreal for @matt___morris birthday + seeing JOJI!!!
💍 Celebrating my brother Justin’s wedding!!

🛍️ The cutest Sunday Swap run by @jennylaviolette
🤠 Alllll the western & Y2K outfits + playing dress up and having too much fun with glam

👟 Taking a gym break, finding my way back, and going on more walks to get comfortable being out in the world again
🤎 Making summer memories with my son, my favourite little adventure buddy (not pictured for his privacy and safety, and to respect his choice about being shared online 🫶)

Some days I was exploring a whole new city. Other days, a walk around my neighbourhood was my little victory. I’m proud of myself for both 🥹

Still anxious? Yes. Still need a pep talk before leaving sometimes? Absolutely 😂 But I’m getting out there, making memories, and giving the girl with a million outfit ideas somewhere to wear them!!!

Here’s to getting a little more consistent, a little more comfortable, and seeing who I get to become by next summer. More photos, more little adventures, more life ✨

One of my goals as a photographer this year is to try my best to persist and show up and shoot even when things don’t always turn out ideal. From experience it’s always these moments where you end up getting the best shots anyway and maybe shots that turn out even better than expected. What’s a little rain when you can dance in it?

i found my disposable cameras from 2017… and i still haven’t seen what’s on them yet.

i have to wait a whole week and it’s lowkey killing me 😭

i’m so curious what memories have been hiding on these all this time… like who was i? what moments did I think were worth capturing?

there’s something about disposable camera photos that just hits different… it’s like a time capsule.

i’ll update you guys when i get them back 👀📸

“When I have a camera in my hand, I know no fear“ 📸 ✨ since it’s the last week of beautiful summer weather, I thought I’d share one of my best moments from this summer. Being able to experience bluesfest as a photographer was really a mind changing experience. I like to believe the universe was showing me my future and where I wanted to be and now I’ve been trying to achieve that dream with real and productive action ever since.
