A year ago today, I took a step in faith and got baptized!
I had no intentions getting baptized that day. I’ve always had this idea that I need to be “perfect” before making that decision. Even then, there were so many logical reasons telling me not to. For one, I was in jeans and a hoodie, having a presentation the next hour, my family not being there, and then the lie in my head telling me that my relationship with God wasn’t where it needed to be. I was still failing him everyday and putting worldly things above him. As I was watching some of my best friends get baptized, I felt the Holy Spirit calling me to take a leap of faith and I knew if I didn’t trust him, I would regret it. That day reminds me of Matthew 11: 28-30 “Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and humble and my burden is light.” It reminds me that Jesus wanted me exactly how I was. Jesus has been so sweet and gracious with me on this journey.
My heart is full with so much gratitude for everything he has done for me this past year, the hard lessons included!
