We did THAT!

A belated round up of my fifth annual World AIDS Day cabaret. Thank you to my guest stars, sponsors and wonderful audience for making this night so special AND helping us raise £22,063 for @positivelyuk. I’m so grateful and humbled for those working in the sector to give up a precious evening in what is the busiest week of the year for them to attend!

We are another year closer to 2030 and while we have achieved so much - opt-out testing, digital clinics and home testing have yielded amazing results - yet we have so far to go to reach the target of zero new transmissions.

New diagnosis are highest amongst black African and Caribbean communities, young people (25-34) and heterosexuals.

We need education and access to testing and treatment to ALL! And we need peer support available in hospitals and clinics where people are diagnosed to help ensure they remain engaged in their healthcare.

On top of this, funding and financial support is harder to come by for charitable services that offer life-changing support for people living with HIV.

SO! Please continue to help us in all the ways you can - Speak up against HIV stigma, get tested and support your local charities.

Our annual literary salon happened last night, Naked Boys Reading 🍑. Thank you to the light that is @daisypuller for presenting and always campaigning for queer causes 🏳️‍🌈✊🏾. Thank you to our 10 readers for bearing all while reading about their unique experiences of the male condition 🫶

Now in its 5th year, my annual WORLD AIDS DAY CABARET returns to the stunning ballroom at @oneninetyfour_piccadilly for an evening of emotion, education and entertainment.

All in the name of a very good cause - helping @positivelyuk with their vital work for people living with HIV.

This year the show will be bigger and better than EVER with a lineup of incredible drag and cabaret stars, delicious cocktails, raffles, prizes and … your favourite bogan bombshell (Moi!)

“This Was My Sliding Doors Moment” Dan’s Story of HIV, Drag & Transformation
From a nightclub panic exit in Sydney to dazzling London stages in heels and sequins, Dan’s journey is a powerful story of vulnerability, strength, and reclaiming joy.

Diagnosed with HIV in 2018, Dan turned to community, creativity, and connection. With support from Positively UK and peer mentor Chris Buckley, he transformed his drag persona Daisy into a fierce advocate for U=U and HIV awareness.

Dan now runs an annual World AIDS Day cabaret and continues to inspire through fashion, activism, and lived experience.

His story is a reminder: HIV doesn’t define you how you rise does.
