Joyful heart, anchored in Christ💛
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
There was a point where I knew I was gaining weight… but I didn’t realize how much until one day I did.

And when I finally saw it, it shattered me.

It wasn’t just about what I looked like. It was what I felt every single day. Every picture. Every outfit. Every mirror. My body consumed my thoughts in ways people around me probably never realized.

After my knee injury, not being able to play the game I loved, and then being diagnosed with PCOS, I felt like I had completely lost control of my own body. I knew what my body used to be capable of, and suddenly it felt like it was working against me. For a long time… I accepted it.

My mom and dad refused to let me settle there. They believed there was still more in me, even when I couldn’t believe it myself.

Then I met Ryan.

I don’t say this lightly, he’s the best trainer I’ve ever had. He listened, learned about PCOS, adjusted to what my body needed, and saw strength in me on days I only saw defeat.

There were workouts where I cried the entire time.

Not because the weights were heavy… but because life was. Carrying disappointment. Carrying insecurity. Carrying responsibilities. Carrying everyone’s expectations. Carrying a body that no longer felt like mine. Then trying to carry weights on top of all of that… it was overwhelming.

Some days I wanted to quit before I even started.

But I kept coming back. Not because I was confident. Not because I was motivated. Because I was desperate to meet the version of myself I knew was still underneath all the hurt.

Today, I’m proud of the weight I’ve lost. But I’m even more proud of the woman who kept showing up with tears in her eyes when nobody knew how heavy life felt.

If you’ve ever looked in the mirror and mourned the person you felt like you lost, I understand.

This isn’t just a weight-loss journey.

It’s the first time in a long time that I’ve felt like I’m getting myself back.

Thank You, Jesus, for giving me strength when I had none. Thank you, Ryan, for walking in your calling. And thank you, Mama & Daddy, for believing in me until I could believe in myself. 🤍 by @dajohna_rivers
