Just an ordinary ivy covered tree down the road on a piece of land that is being butchered by the owners or at least by the cowboys they are employing- they have chopped down many trees, left piles of drying debris which in our area is a fire hazard. Reflections in our pool - just a quick sketch in my homemade sketchbook - after seeing one made in #sketchbookrevival20226. I used an old pad of watercolour paper for the signatures, which is too soft but it is still very usable.#watercolour #sketchbookart #reflections #poolside by @dakinalan

I tried to varnish the previous post of a dramatic scene from Iceland and damaged it - should have used more coats of fixative spray first but a lesson learnt.Anyway I had to repaint it and this is the result but using a different palette - Horadam Mars Black, Holbein Pthalo Blue, Daniel Smith Raw Sienna, Mission Gold Brown Yellow.#icelandlandscape #watercolour #mountain_world #dramaticsky #nevervarnish by @dakinalan

14 years ago when I had just started using watercolours I followed a step by step guide from a book by @geoffkersey_watercolour and whilst searching through my old paintings I found it again - so I have tried to paint it as the original guide was, and in a more sketchy version to see if I have improved 😛.
