Itโ€™s been a while (years) since I have explicitly talked what I do with my business and coaching. โ€‰
โ€‰
7 years ago this week I started Dakota Lane Fitness (DakotaLaneFitness.com)! After working as a trainer and then going a totally different direction and working with highschool kids at Church, I wanted to be able to merge both passions for helping peopleโ€™s bodyโ€™s as well as their minds and souls. โ€‰
โ€‰
Online coaching wasnโ€™t a huge thing back then like it is now and I literally started from scratch. โ€‰
โ€‰
1. I build customized exercise plans for people of any experience level, background, and equipment availability and teach them how to execute it! โ€‰
โ€‰
2. I program completely detailed and customized nutrition plans based on your food preferences, goals, specifications, and schedule with hundreds of different food combination options to keep it diverse. Along with a supplement protocol to aid in your goals. โ€‰
โ€‰
3. I coach you and am available 24/7 basically to help you, keep you accountable, and answer questions. Share in the highs and lows. โ€‰
โ€‰
I have worked with close to 800 people from 15 years old to 78 years old in ALL 50 States๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ 22 Countries and ALL 7 continents (even Antarctica)๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ถ ๐ŸŒŽโ€‰

The client stories I have are endless. I am truly living the dream.
โ€‰

The last 2+ years I have been over booked with new clients waiting from 1-3 months to get started! And before that I was just working 24/7 to keep up ๐Ÿ˜… I didnโ€™t stop working weekends until about 3 months ago. Very grateful to be busy and successful at what I do!

โ€‰
My goal isnโ€™t to make a bunch of skinny or muscular people but rather to help become experience the highest quality of life they can inside and out. Internal health is the most important and the external follow! โ€‰
โ€‰
Health is about so much more than just body fat percentages. Mind, body, and soul all have to be taken care of! โ€‰
โ€‰
So grateful for all the amazing clients I have been able to work with and the amazing ones who are to come! โ€‰
โ€‰
Letโ€™s keep going! On track for another record breaking year! TO THE HEIGHTS! ๐Ÿš€ by @dakotalanefitness

Getting stronger on the outside has a way of surfacing what's unresolved on the inside.

Dakota Lane shares why the work of a fitness journey is never JUST physicalโ€ฆ including his own honest reason for starting.

Fitness isn't just about aesthetics. It's about whether you can actually keep up with your kidsโ€ฆ and what your life is teaching them.

For Dakota Lane, taking care of your body is a way of loving the people who depend on you.

Most people treat fitness and faith like separate projects. Turns out the obstacles are the sameโ€ฆ and so is the freedom on the other side. Grateful for this conversation with Dakota Lane.

I was shocked๐Ÿ˜ณโ€‰
โ€‰
I was at the store early this week and my mind was blown. The $11/lb lean beef was rough but thatโ€™s not what shocked me. โ€‰
โ€‰
I went to go buy some Coke Zero (no, artificial sweetners wont give you cancer) and the pop (โ€˜sodaโ€™ for the weirdos) was BฬฒUฬฒYฬฒ 3ฬฒ GฬฒEฬฒTฬฒ 3ฬฒ FฬฒRฬฒEฬฒEฬฒ. Insane but thatโ€™s not even it!!โ€‰
โ€‰
I then went to the chip aisle to get a couple bags of chips for a family function and the chips were BUY 2 BAGS GET 3 FREE๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿคฏ โ€‰
Imagine how many people go in to get a bad of Doritos and some tortilla chips and then they are like oh sweet we get three more whole bags! โ€‰
โ€‰
What the heck! โ€‰
โ€‰
Yall this is a losing battle! The culture DOES NOT want you to be healthy. Let me say that again๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธโ€‰
โ€‰
THE CULTURE DOES NOT WANT YOU TO BE HEALTHY! โ€‰
โ€‰
When is the last time you saw a commercial for organic chicken breast on sale. For the health benefits of dark leaf greens? NEVER. Whenโ€™s the last time those were on sale for BUY 3 APPLES GET 3 FREE?! NEVER!!โ€‰
How many commercials for Oreos and Reeseโ€™s cups? Pharmaceuticals? All of them๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿฝโ€โ™‚๏ธโ€‰
โ€‰
Healthy people donโ€™t make the system money. Healthy people provide livelihood for farmers and small businesses and itโ€™s not much. โ€‰
Unhealthy people make money for doctors, insurance companies, big pharma, massive processed food companies...and itโ€™s in the TRILLIONS๐Ÿ’ฐ๐Ÿค‘โ€‰
โ€‰
They make it so easy to get unhealthy. โ€‰
โ€‰
These transformations are counter cultural. Teaching realistic sustainable lifestyle changes to still enjoy yourself but also feel and look your best. โ€‰
โ€‰
Of course it takes sacrifice but every single one of them will tell you itโ€™s MORE THAN WORTH IT! โ€‰
โ€‰
Being unhealthy is the average population. Going with the flow is overrated. Do something unique๐Ÿ˜ โ€‰

Iโ€™ve realized that being heroic rarely looks like the movies. Especially for a kid. Just being dad makes me a hero to them. But I donโ€™t just want to be given that title, I want to earn it. ๐Ÿฆธ๐Ÿฝโ€โ™‚๏ธ

The greatest way I can lead my son isnโ€™t by telling him what kind of man to becomeโ€”itโ€™s by becoming that man myself. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ

I am certainly imperfect, thereโ€™s no doubt. But daily striving to be better inside and out. Taking care of the body God gave me, not just for my own goals, but so I can be strong enough to carry him, play with him, protect him, and hopefully be there for his biggest moments decades from now. To teach him about authentic masculinity. To lay your life down for others. Standing up for whatโ€™s right. Striving for magnanimity. ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ

It means building a business with integrity, showing him that success is earned through discipline, service, and doing right by peopleโ€”not cutting corners or chasing shortcuts. ๐Ÿซฑ๐Ÿผโ€๐Ÿซฒ๐Ÿฝ

Fatherhood has given me the opportunity to redeem parts of my own childhood. Not by living in the past or blaming it, but by choosing what gets passed on. To break unhealthy cycles, keep what was good, and intentionally build something better. To give my children a father who is present, patient, and dependable. โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿฉน

The habits I build today become the standards he grows up watching. The way I treat his mom teaches him how to love. The way I handle adversity teaches him resilience. The way I train teaches him discipline. The way I run my business teaches him responsibility. The way I live my faith teaches him what truly matters. ๐Ÿ’ฏ

If he remembers anything about me years from now, I hope it isnโ€™t what I accomplished. I hope he remembers that I lived with conviction, loved my family well, and did my best to leave him an example worth following.

Because the greatest legacy a father leaves isnโ€™t what he gives his childrenโ€”itโ€™s the example he lives in front of them. by @dakotalanefitness

Another week. Another opportunity to get after it.โ€‰
โ€‰
Most goals arenโ€™t missed because people lack talent, intelligence, or potential. Theyโ€™re missed because people arenโ€™t willing to take the risks required to get there. They stay in their comfort zone, wait for the perfect time, or avoid the possibility of failure. But growth has always lived on the other side of uncertainty. If you want something youโ€™ve never had, you have to be willing to do things youโ€™ve never done.โ€‰
โ€‰
Helping people become stronger, healthier, and more confident isnโ€™t just my job, its a purpose. That purpose fuels the early mornings, the long days, and the constant pursuit of getting better. Years of non stop work weeks, missing family functions, not being social. Its not easy but Iโ€™m grateful I have been able to build something impactful. โ€‰
โ€‰
Bet on yourself. Take the risk. Put in the work. You might be surprised by whatโ€™s possible when you stop playing it safe.โ€‰

โ€‰
It was 10:30 pm 11 years ago. โ€‰
โ€‰
I was at the gym. I had been lifting a few years and made some slight progress but there was one thing I was so insecure about. โ€‰
โ€‰
I ate out all the time and had no clue how to cook and I also knew next to nothing about nutrition. โ€‰
โ€‰
I couldnโ€™t have told you what a calorie was or protein or anything. I would hear people talk about it, but I had no clue what they were talking about and would just play along in a conversation.โ€‰
โ€‰
I knew that nutrition was somewhat important for fitness progress, but I had no idea how much. โ€‰
โ€‰
There was a guy that I always saw at the gym. He was gigantic. Clearly on steroids but insane physique. He was a biker dude, tatted up and a Mohawk. He always looked so pissed off. โ€‰
โ€‰
For some reason, I still decided to go up to him. I said โ€œsuper dumb, but I know literally nothing about nutrition and Iโ€™m trying to learn, can you just give me some basic info?โ€โ€‰
โ€‰
He immediately lit up and said โ€œThatโ€™s not stupid at all! You want to learn, thatโ€™s the most important thing...โ€โ€‰
โ€‰
And he proceeded to spend 30 minutes going over everything with basic nutrition science. โ€‰
โ€‰
Yes, the nutrition changed my life. My results started to progress exponentially, I went on to compete several times, winning Mr. Rocky Mountain physique and now have coached over 800 people and get to share the same info that he told me...BUT the most impactful thing was his receptivity. โ€‰
โ€‰
He was the epitome of someone I wouldnโ€™t think to talk to in the gym. Yet, for some reason I did. โ€‰
โ€‰
He took the time, at 10:30 pm in the middle of his lift to pour into me. โ€‰
โ€‰
Its been a huge blessing now that I have had so many opportunities to do the same in the gym. I always try to keep the same open disposition he had. You just never know the impact you might have on someone. โ€‰
โ€‰
If you are new to the gym, donโ€™t be afraid to ask that guy or girl a question! Chances are they were in your shoes at some point! โ€‰
โ€‰
Thanks Chip for being the man!โ€‰
