POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

The world is a much dimmer place today. I am devastated to learn of Merle Weiss’ passing. She and Daniel A. Weiss have been pillars of the South Beach (and beyond) community for decades. To say that they are iconic is sheer understatement. AND, as legendary as they are, triple that to know just how kind, generous and caring they are. Oh, and Merle had a wicked sense of humor, to be certain. One of my favorite photo shoots EVER was a Valentine’s session we did for a Wire Magazine issue. Danny always reminds me that the signature photo of that shoot remained on his office wall until he retired. Another wonderful photographic moment was Merle joining my list of celebs for the DINING OUT FOR LIFE campaign. Of course, she rocked it!
The other shots I was able to get my hands on quickly are the one with Patricia Field and the one with Jody McDonald.
Oh Merle, you will be so very missed. :(
Of course, the photo of Merle with me, I didn’t take. As I recall it was Juan Saco who took it at 721 (formerly Laundry Bar)
Danny, I send you all my love and strength during this time of grief and loss. @merleweiss

What a blessing to celebrate the beautiful life of Merle Weiss with her beloved Daniel A. Weiss! She is very missed on the physical plain but we carry her love, her light and her spirit throughout our lives. 💕
Oh and the photo in the background is one I took of Merle with Patricia Field. This is Samantha Perez Fan Page beautiful art rendition of it. @daniel_a_weiss @merleweiss by @dalestine

Happy Eighth birthday to my Virgo girls Fanny and Dolly (exact date isn’t known since they were rescued from a back yard, so I chose 9.1 since it’s definitely around this time) #FannDoll #calicos #cats #adoptdontshop #cats_of_instagram @fanndoll by @dalestine

This is what it looks like to show up.

Was it perfect? No.
Is there room to grow? Always.

But growth only happens when we keep showing up.

When we return to the altar — to the practice, to the prayer, to the calling — time after time… again and again.

Because the sacred is not found in getting everything right.

It is found in the courage to offer what we have, exactly where we are.

Yesterday, I stepped forward and offered my voice — not because I had mastered every note, but because I believe the gift is in the offering.

This is the path:
step by step.
breath by breath.
moment by moment.

Finally getting around to watching the replay of my offering this morning…

First I was like: 🙈
Then: 😬
Then: 🫣

Until I arrived here: 🥹

Because I remembered…

Perfection was never the gift.
Devotion is.

The beauty was never in the flawless note.
It has always been in the heart behind the offering.

And every time we return, we become a little more of who we were always meant to be.

Special shoutout to my girl @inspirationbyshante for capturing this moment for posterity 🎥

Deep gratitude to @unityonthebay @delhierrojuan @dalestine and @vittoriaverrone for being such a powerful part of this journey of becoming… of continually stepping to the edge, meeting myself there, and discovering new dimensions of what I am capable of. 🙏🏼

Every time I step up to the edge, I discover it was never the limit I thought it was.

It was an invitation to expand. ✨
