Hey Travel Village, let's get into it.

Elizabeth, New Jersey just got a whole lot more colorful and I was there for the unveiling!

This is "Welcome World," the beautiful new mural by artist Lauren McDermott @lo.mcdermott her very first exterior mural, and she poured her heart into every brushstroke. The flowers represent the different cultures that have taken root here in Elizabeth, all growing together in one shared garden.

And my favorite part? The butterfly is INTERACTIVE — stand in front of it and the wings become yours. (You know I had to try it!)

The hibiscus stopped me in my tracks. Growing up on the Island, on those hot days walking home from school, we'd pick hibiscus and sip the nectar — sweet, cool, and refreshing. A truly lovely memory, painted right here on this wall.
