And just like that…. My baby grew up!
We ALWAYS have let Wilder (& all our kids!) make their own decisions about their hair, clothing, ears pierced, ect.
A year and a half ago he came to me wanting his hair locked.
A month ago, he came to us wanting his hair cut.
The comb out started. Now, if he wasn’t getting his hair cut, I would have not cut his locs first, in order to keep his length. I knew he needed more length kept on top and underneath could be shorter, for the haircut he was wanting.
This would be Wilder’s first EVER haircut!
Wilder found @edgarblessyou & that was it.
He refused to go to anyone else! So we made the appointment & drove 3 hours to Nashville to see him. And I’m glad we did!
Edgar was a huge help in getting any extra knots out!
My mama heart is hurting.. not because he doesn’t have locs anymore… but because he looks way older.. he’s not a little anymore😭
I’m still getting used to it!
Off to Cosmo Prof tomorrow to get some pomade!

I never set out to do this… I only made my luxury ends on crack (Rapunzel Locs) for my OWN dreadlocks.
I started making Rapunzel Locs for myself back in fall of 2021 (before I named them Rapunzel Locs) after searching EVERYWHERE for the extensions I had pictured in my head.
I searched EVERY dread maker & dreadlock artist on Etsy, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, ect for the dreadlock extensions I envisioned.
I could NOT find them. Anywhere!!
So I attempted to make them myself!
I started to install them on my 5 yr old locs in the beginning of 2022.
I posted a picture of me & my extensions in February 2022. The rest is history.

Fast forward to 2026. The style is EVERYWHERE.
The name Rapunzel Locs is now used to describe the style.
I still can’t believe people like them.
I pinch myself everyday that I get to create beautiful dreadlocks for people all around the world….
The dreadlocks that I envisioned & brought to life, that would be loved by so many & influence many other artists.
I truly would not be where I am today without the dread artists that encouraged me throughout the years.

I always wondered if I had never posted that first picture of me & my Rapunzel Locs in February 2022. If I would have let the fear of judgement take over, I don’t know what life would look like today.

Just a few of the things that I will be sharing in person & online.!
While the two classes are SOLD OUT, I plan on adding one more in person class before the year’s end🥰
🌸I will also be putting out an online
“Tea Time Tutorial” for artists in other countries who are unable to come in person!!
Complete with translations & closed captions!
I’ve been filming for over a year now & I hope to have the on-line class finished by fall🤞🏼
I’m super SUPER excited (I’m so not good in front of big crowds… so the one on one or on video is much more comfortable for me.)
I appreciate y’all’s interest in this over the years!
I’m finally getting out of my comfort zone!

A lil refresh & layers today!
We set this appointment up in April & had no idea a hurricane was coming! So coming up from AL/GA was traffic galore!
My beautiful friend came up to refresh some of her ends. We split some locs on her crown the last time she was here & at the beach in April.
I extended those to match the diameter of each one, made on the spot.
She also wanted them dreaded down more in places for more of a cohesive flow.
🌸side note: Do NOT take a hot flat iron to your locked parts.. “to smooth it out/defrizz”
No.. she didn’t do it but a stylist on a magazine shoot did🙈
Some of the front ones I couldn’t understand the rock hardness of them… too hard to be over crocheting… then she told me what a stylist did.😩
I got those all fixed up as well!
It was a late night but so worth it! I love when I get to hang out with my Regin!

It’s been 2 years since Taylan’s install here at the cottage!
She gets her routine root maintenance done up in Ohio.
She was ready for a complete refresh after a busy 2 years of school & motherhood!
I color matched/hand blended 3 blonde shades.
I made 19 Rapunzel Locs Tips & added in 5 double ended volume pieces in the same custom blend.
Normally, I would root out the DEVP (match the root color & ombré into the blonde) but with her fine hair, when left down, I didn’t want such darkness casting a shadow underneath.
Doing this, brightens up her overall look.
We ended the day with stone sprinkles, thread & piercings!

A lil maintenance, a lil reconstruction & a whole lotta love!
My new client came in for maintenance & consultation for new extensions.
Her locs were started this summer, so they are pretty new! The sections were great, her natural locs looked good (just needed root to tip crochet). She had a few extensions slip & a few were hanging on…
I reattached the ones she brought, secured the ones about to slip & made a few on the spot (darker brown) to hold her over until her appointment in December!
We ended the day with sprinkles & decoration!!

Maintenance today!!
My friend & client came in for maintenance. It’s been about 10 months since her last maintenance!!
She keeps them separated at home but had a lot of new growth (see 2nd slide)
She pre-booked for 4 months maintenance (which I ALWAYS advise doing before you leave because life can get in the way sometimes)
We ended the day with teal stone sprinkles & thread decoration.

(Also, I legit was going to wear the SAME dress as her today!!🤷🏼‍♀️🤣 great minds think alike!)

Maintenance today & made 11 new locs!!
My client came in for his routine root maintenance. He’s been growing out the sides since his last maintenance 4 months ago.
There was enough new growth to make 11 new baby locs.
He needs to wear his locs back for work, so I added human hair to add length.
Ended the day with thread decoration, added back in his beads & wrap. He also got a new glass bead by @borobeads33 !

I also made new Lizzie’s & 4 Congos, for more volume.
