Remember all those tiny wicks I was prepping Wednesday? 🕯️

Well…this is what all that prep was for. 🤎

Today we’re back in the studio pouring tea lights — one little candle at a time, tray after tray. There’s something so satisfying about finally getting to the pouring stage after all the behind-the-scenes prep that goes into making even the smallest candle.

Because around here, even the tiny ones are hand-poured with the same pure US-grown soy wax and attention as the big guys. 🤎

And judging by this table… I might have gotten a little carried away. 😂

Hi friends 🤎 Since we have so many new faces around here lately, I thought it was time to re-introduce myself — and maybe share a little more than just “Hi, I make candles.”

I’m Dalynn. I’m a boy mom to an amazing 11-year-old, dog mom to our two Labs, a coffee-all-day kind of girl, true crime podcast listener, and the woman behind DHO Creations. I’ve been making candles for over 8 years now, but this little business has become so much more to me than simply making something that smells good. After my back fusion and years of living with chronic pain and physical limitations, candle making became one of the ways I learned to cope. It gave me something that was mine on days when my body dictated so much of what I could and couldn’t do. It gave me a creative outlet, a purpose, and something I could continue building at my own pace — even when that pace looked very different from everyone else’s.

And that part of my story is still very real.

There are days I can accomplish a lot, and there are days my back says absolutely not. 😂 There are heating-pad days, slower days, and days when things simply have to wait until tomorrow. I’ve had to learn that running a small business doesn’t have to look like hustle, hustle, hustle to be meaningful or successful. DHO has grown with me through all of it. We’ve had exciting seasons, incredibly hard seasons, a warehouse chapter, a move back home, and plenty of moments when I’ve wondered what the next chapter would look like. But I’m still here. Still creating. Still dreaming. And still ridiculously excited when one of you tells me you love a scent I created. 🥹

So if you’re new here, welcome. And if you’ve been here watching this journey unfold for years, thank you for continuing to stick around through every version of DHO and every version of me.

Same girl. Bigger dreams. Just taking them one day — and sometimes one heating pad — at a time. 🤎

🍂🤎 NOVEMBER REFLECTIONS | A MONTH OF GRATITUDE 🤎🍂

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how easy it is to get caught up in the busyness of everyday life and forget to appreciate the little things. ❤️ Between unpacking Christmas decorations, keeping up with the shop, and everything else life keeps throwing our way, I tend to forget to simply slow down and be thankful for what’s right in front of me.

So this November, I wanted to try something a little different here on our page. 🍁

Throughout the month, I’ll be sharing little reflections on gratitude, kindness, thankfulness, and those simple moments that make life special. Nothing fancy. Just some thoughts from the heart, a little encouragement, and hopefully some meaningful conversations with all of you. 🤎 Because life isn’t always perfect, and some days finding something to be grateful for takes a little more effort than others. But I believe there’s always something worth appreciating, even if it’s something small.

So let’s start here…

🍂 What’s one little thing you’re thankful for today?

I’d really love to hear your answers. ❤️

🎄☕ GOOD MORNING & HAPPY FIRST MONDAY OF NOVEMBER! ❤️

If you’re looking for us, we’ll be somewhere underneath a mountain of Christmas decorations, tangled garland, and boxes that seem to multiply every time we turn around! 🤣📦
The Christmas transformation is officially in full swing at the shop, and let me tell you…it’s a beautiful kind of chaos!

One minute we’re unpacking ornaments, the next we’re moving an entire display because something just doesn’t look quite right. And of course, there’s always that ONE decoration we know we have but can’t seem to find! 😂

We’re taking our time bringing all that Christmas magic to life, rearranging, layering, and creating those cozy little corners that make you want to stop and look around. There’s still plenty to unpack, products to add, and little details to fuss over before everything comes together. ❤️

Meanwhile, Gus is tangled in Christmas lights, Finn has claimed the ribbon, and Silvy looks like she’s ready to clock out before we’ve even started! 🤣🐾

Here’s to strong coffee, Christmas music, a whole lot of patience, and making a beautiful mess along the way!

Happy Monday, friends! ❤️🎄

Tell me, are you already decorating for Christmas, or are you holding on to fall a little longer? 🍂

GOOD MORNING SWEET FRIENDS!!! ☕🍂💜🏡

AND JUST LIKE THAT…THE ADVENTURE IS OFFICIALLY OVER!!! 🥹🐾❤️ No haunted castles. No mysterious tunnels. No creepy gargoyles chasing us through the woods. Just a quiet Sunday morning, warm blankets, a fresh cup of coffee, and our whole little family finally together. 🥹❤️

After yesterday’s Halloween festivities, I think it’s safe to say we’ve ALL earned a day of doing absolutely NOTHING! 😂
Silvy and Finn have claimed their favorite cozy spots, hubby and kiddo are enjoying a slow morning, and little Gus has traded his adventuring gear for Halloween jammies and a teddy bear. And me? I’m sitting here soaking it all in, wondering how one little gnome managed to turn our entire October upside down! 😂💜 Somewhere along the way, between the spooky village, the castle walls, and our race to get home, this became so much more than just a silly little Halloween story. It became something we all got to share. ❤️

Every morning you showed up, followed along, worried about our pups, laughed at Gus’s questionable decisions, and cheered us on. And that made this adventure even more special than I ever imagined. 🥹 So from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU for coming along on this crazy journey with us! As we welcome November, I’m looking forward to slowing things down a little, enjoying the comforts of home, and getting back to all the wonderful things happening here at DHO. 🕯️🍂 And Gus? Well, let’s just say I’m keeping a VERY close eye on that little troublemaker! 😂 Here’s to a peaceful Sunday, a fresh new month, and appreciating those simple moments that make home feel like home. 🏡❤️

Now tell me, friends…are you enjoying a lazy Sunday after Halloween, or have you already started bringing out the Christmas decorations?! 🎄😂

🎃🖤 HAPPY HALLOWEEN FROM OUR CRAZY LITTLE DHO FAMILY!!! 🖤🎃

After weeks of haunted castles, mysterious passages, spooky adventures, and trying to get everyone home in one piece…I think it’s safe to say we’ve officially lost our minds! 😂👻
But what’s Halloween without a little mischief?! We decided the occasion called for a proper spooky family portrait! Hubby, kiddo, Silvy, Finn, Gus, and yours truly all dressed up for the occasion. 🦇🕸️ Of course, getting everyone to behave for a family photo was apparently asking WAY too much! 😂 One minute we’re looking like a respectable little family of witches and warlocks…the next, Gus is causing trouble, candy is flying, and complete chaos has taken over!

But beneath all the costumes, laughter, and Halloween shenanigans, there’s something pretty special about having our whole little family together. Even our mischievous Gus, who has certainly kept us on our toes this season! 🥹❤️ Thank you for being part of our adventures, sharing in the laughs, and making this spooky season so much fun!

From our family to yours, we’re wishing you a Halloween filled with laughter, a little magic, plenty of sweet treats, and wonderful memories. 🧡 Have a FUN & SAFE Halloween night, friends!!! 🎃🖤

Now tell us… are you dressing up tonight, handing out candy, or staying cozy at home with a scary movie? 👻🍿

GOOD MORNING and HAPPY HALLOWEEN SWEET FRIENDS!!! 🎃☕🍂💜

WE MADE IT HOME!!!!!!!

I don’t even know whether to laugh, cry, or collapse right here on the front steps!!! 😂 After everything we’ve been through, I can hardly believe I’m saying those words.

WE. ARE. HOME. 🥹❤️

Yesterday’s escape from that terrifying castle was only the beginning! We ran through the forest, followed the familiar river, and kept pushing forward until the trees finally began to look familiar. And then it happened…Silvy stopped in her tracks. Finn lifted his nose into the air. And little Gus, who has somehow managed to get us into AND out of more trouble than I ever thought possible, pointed straight ahead.

THERE IT WAS!!!

Our little DHO candle studio, glowing warmly in the distance. I don’t think my feet have ever moved so fast! The moment we reached home, I dropped my bags, wrapped my arms around my pups, and just sat there for a minute taking it all in. The familiar scent of candles, the pumpkins on the porch, the warm lights in the windows…All those little things we sometimes take for granted suddenly felt like EVERYTHING. 🥹❤️ And Gus? That little troublemaker looked pretty pleased with himself! 😂 We’ve crossed rivers, wandered through mysterious villages, followed hidden symbols, searched a haunted castle, and somehow found our way back to where we belong. Together. And while we’re exhausted, muddy, and desperately in need of a bath, I wouldn’t trade this little crew for anything. Thank you for following along, cheering us on, and helping keep the magic alive through every twist and turn of this adventure! You’ve made this journey even more special. 🥹💜

Now, somebody PLEASE tell Gus that our next adventure needs to involve a cozy blanket, a good cup of coffee, and absolutely NO haunted castles!!! 😂☕🐾

GOOD MORNING SWEET FRIENDS!!! ☕🍂💜🏰

WE ARE RUNNING FOR OUR LIVES!!!! 😱🐾

After following Gus down that mysterious staircase yesterday, we found ourselves deep beneath the castle, surrounded by cold stone walls, twisting tunnels, and an eerie purple glow.
We had absolutely NO idea where we were going. All we knew was that turning back wasn’t an option! Then Silvy suddenly stopped. Her ears perked up, Finn started sniffing frantically, and Gus pointed toward a faint light ahead.

FRESH AIR!!! WE FOUND A WAY OUT!!! 🥹🙌

The moment we climbed out of that underground passage and into the castle courtyard…THE BELLS STARTED RINGING!!! 🔔😳 The ground began shaking, shadows danced along the castle walls, and I SWEAR one of those creepy stone gargoyles turned its head to look at us!!! 😱

NOPE. ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!

I grabbed my lantern, Gus started yelling about the gates, Finn took off like he’d just heard the word DINNER, and Silvy was right beside me giving it everything she had! 😂🐾❤️
And there they were…THE CASTLE GATES WERE WIDE OPEN!!! 🙌 So we RAN!!! Through swirling leaves, past crumbling stone walls, and straight toward the dark forest beyond those gates.
No stopping. No looking back. And DEFINITELY no arguing with Gus about his questionable navigation skills! 😂 Just four exhausted adventurers finally escaping that terrifying castle!
We’ve made it through the gates, friends…but we’re not stopping until we’re HOME! 🥹💜🏡

Good morning & happy Thursday, sweet friends! ☕🍂💜🏰

WE FOUND A WAY OUT!!! Well…we THINK we did! 😳😂
After yesterday’s realization that all four of us were trapped inside this creepy castle, I was beginning to wonder if we’d ever see home again! But apparently, our little Gus wasn’t ready to give up. 💜 While Finn and Silvy were busy sniffing around the room, Gus noticed something unusual beneath an old stone staircase. Hidden among the carvings was that familiar symbol we’ve been following this entire adventure…

THREE EVERGREEN TREES! 🌲🌲🌲

And wouldn’t you know it, Gus found a way to activate it!
The floor began trembling, stones shifted, and suddenly an enormous opening appeared beneath the castle, revealing a steep staircase disappearing into a mysterious purple glow! 😱
Now, I don’t know about you, but heading DOWN into the depths of a haunted castle doesn’t exactly scream safety to me! 😂 But Silvy was already leading the way, Finn was right behind her, and Gus was waving us forward like he knew exactly where we were going. So I grabbed my lantern, took one last look behind us, and followed my crew into the darkness. 🕯️🐾

We’re finally moving again, friends…but where does this passage lead?! 👀🏰 Would YOU follow Gus down those spooky stairs, or take your chances with the locked castle doors? 😂💜

Good morning sweet friends! ☕🍂💜🏰

Soooo…we might have a slight problem! 😳

Yesterday was such an emotional day. After all that searching, I finally had my sweet Finn back in my arms, Silvy had her brother, and our little Gus was safe. For a little while, I honestly forgot we were still inside this enormous, creepy castle. 🥹🐾

But this morning, reality came knocking!

With everyone finally together, I figured we’d simply retrace our steps through the secret passage and start making our way home. Except the passage had completely sealed itself behind us! 😳 And that enormous wooden door we’d been fighting with? Still won’t budge! So here we are. Four very tired adventurers, surrounded by cold stone walls, mysterious corridors, and absolutely no idea how we’re getting out.

Finn hasn’t stopped watching the door, Silvy is busy investigating every corner, and Gus has been studying the strange markings carved into the walls. Me? I’m beginning to wonder why nothing about this adventure can EVER be simple! 😂💜 But there’s something comforting about having everyone together again. Whatever this castle throws at us next, we’re facing it as a family. And I have a feeling our little Gus knows more about those strange markings than he’s letting on… 👀🌲 Halloween is only a few days away, and this crew WILL be home in time! 🎃🏡 Now tell me, friends… would you trust Gus to find the way out, or would you start looking for another secret passage? 🔑🏰

🍂 Life lately… a little bit of everything and a whole lot of memories being made. 🤎

Between pouring candles, getting hella sick, watching our backyard transformation come together, soaking up these beautiful fall days, and sneaking in a little Halloween fun, we’ve been keeping plenty busy!

Some days are filled with business and home projects, while others are for family adventures and making memories with my boy. ❤️

Not everything is picture-perfect, and goodness knows there’s always something on the to-do list! But looking back at these little moments reminds me to appreciate the season we’re in and the life we’re building along the way.

Here’s to busy days, beautiful fall memories, and finding joy in the little things. 🍁
