<<PLATEX - SGS MARFOR 2026>> 🇮🇩🇺🇸🇯🇵🇰🇷

I recently took part in the back-to-back joint military exercises Platoon Exchange 2026 and Super Garuda Shield 2026 Marine Forces (MARFOR) Chapter in Lampung, from August to September 2026.

I was assigned as an interpreter for the Indonesian Marine Corps 7/4 Rajawali, tasked with enabling our forces to integrate with the US Marine Corps 1/5 "Geronimo" Marine Rotational Force Darwin (MRF-D), later joined by the Indonesian Marine Corps 9/4 Beruang Hitam, Japan Ground Self-Defense Forces 2nd Amphibious Rapid Deployment Regiment (ARDR) as well as elements of the Republic of Korea Marine Corps 3rd Recon Bn, 6th Marine Brigade.

We conducted a series of activities throughout both exercises, including jungle survival, pointman course, day/night infantry marksmanship training, mortar and sniper live fire, platoon/squad level tactics exchange, jungle operations, military operation in urban terrain, and force-on-force combat simulation.

Four years in the military scene and still, this assignment offered me a lot of firsts; first time being embedded with Marines, first ever infantry unit post, and first time working with Republic of Korea partners. I truly appreciate the opportunity to grow further and expand my comfort zone here, definitely gained a lot of valuable insights and made new friends.

It was quite the challenge to help align four Marine forces of different nations. But everyone made it work. Together, we overcame layers of language barriers, culture gaps, distinctive TTPs, physically and mentally demanding mission sets, challenging tropical jungle terrain, as well as literally, a volcanic eruption only a little over 50 km from where we were! It was short but I'm grateful to be a part of the Marine Brotherhood. You guys are awesome!

Thank you to all participants, support personnel, and instructors - see you all again in the next events!

<<Mission CLÉMENCEAU 25>>

Invited onboard the @marinenationale aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle (R91) in Lombok, January 28. The French carrier strike group just wrapped up their participation in the naval exercise La Perouse 25, de Gaulle will be docking here in Indonesia for a little while before departing to complete the rest of their ongoing global deployment-Mission Clemenceau 25.

Charles de Gaulle is currently the only operational nuclear powered aircraft carrier with CATOBAR system other than the US Nimitz and Ford-class. The French carrier has a crew of 1,200 sailors, 100 headquarter staff and 500 air wing personnel. Her air wing consist of Rafale M fighters, E-2C Hawkeyes early warning and control aircraft, Dauphin, Caiman, and Panther helicopters. To launch its aircraft, Charles de Gaulle is equipped with 2 steam catapults and 2 elevators.

The French Carrier Strike Group had the opportunity to integrate with 8 other navies during La Perouse 25, securing strategic maritime lines in Indonesian waters. Furthermore, three Rafale Ms were also deployed to Australia, flying ~1,000 nm for the Rastaban exercise. Exchange of information between different forces in this exercise were enabled with the use of IORIS system.

Definitely a pleasant and unforgettable experiece onboard. Merci beaucoup! 😁🤙 taken in Lombok by @dam_dum

<<Ksatria Warrior - Super Garuda Shield 2024>>

This year's iteration of Super Garuda Shield is held in East Java once again, but with a rather unusual, extended timetable. It is preceded by the US-Indonesia bilateral exercise Ksatria Warrior. While KSW 23 was also conducted before SGS 23, the bilateral exercise was held in a different region with different participating units. This year's back-to-back scheduling of KSW and SGS - with the same participants roster - saw everybody getting some action for at least a month!

This time I was assigned to Combat Aviation at Banyuwangi. The KSW-SGS 24 combined Army Aviation Task Force consist of US UH-60 Blackhawks, HH-60 MEDEVACs, and CH-47 Chinooks from the 25th Combat Aviation Brigade, as well as Indonesian Mi-17V5 Hips and Bell 412 from Penerbad 31st and 11th Squadron. They are sustained in-base by aviation support elements which includes refuelers and maintainers. It is noteworthy that this is the first time the US Army deployed Chinooks for joint military exercises in Indonesia - though not the first Chinook to operate from the country.

The combined Army Aviation Task Force were invaluable to the success of both KSW and SGS 24. The Chinooks, Blackhawks, and Hips conducted multiple air assault and air movement operations, while the 412 and the HH did MEDEVAC standby and rehearsals. And of course, the highlight of the exercises is having the TNI Hips and US Army Blackhawks operate together!

Compared to all my SGS experience so far, I had the most fun rolling with Combat Aviation! My favorite part of the exercises is terping for subject matter expert exchanges (SMEEs), flying with the TNI Hip for briefings with the infantry side, as well as doing morale trips with my friends. An unforgettable month, thanks to everybody from @25cab @225knighthawks @lightning_dustoff @209th_asb @official_ayc31 ☺️ it's not only about enhancing interoperability and commitment to partnership, but also making memories and friendships that lasts a lifetime. Hopefully I get to see y'all again on the next event! 🤙

<< Indonesia International Search and Rescue 2026 >>

Search and rescue is a serious business with lives at stake, and one that should never be done in absence of sufficient preparations, adequate equipment, and cooperations. Cross-domain, cross-services, and at times, cross-country cooperations must become the norm. From the smallest piece of gear to the largest vehicles, from the teams on the ground to the high-level decision makers - this stuff takes a whole village.

Came here to see whats it's all about, and, well, I also miss helicopters. Got a warm welcome especially from Penerbad flyers over at Ska 21/AAY with their Bell 412EPI (reg HA-5230).

Thanks a lot for the short but good time peeps. by @dam_dum

and for last post in 2025 - i paused my cygames horse girl gacha game for keisei hai autumn handicap G3 2025

it's pretty much like the game, paddock fanfare and scream at the race, unless you know where to head to when you're feeling lucky. if you're outta luck, a giant horse plush deity with its own shrine awaits. throw your losing ticket there and pray, who knows maybe it can turn things around next time.

congrats to ho o las cases for the win!! totally an awesome experience. thanks JRA!! by @dam_dum

<<Kasamatsu - Where the Story Began >>

A small town located in Gifu Prefecture, south of Gifu city and northwest of Nagoya. It takes around half an hour to get here from Nagoya using the Meitetsu train, getting off at Kasamatsu Station.

This town saw an undoubtedly historical moment in Japan's horse racing history when in May 1987, Thoroughbred horse Oguri Cap made his humble debut from the sands of the Kasamatsu Racecourse. In less than a year, Oguri Cap scored 9 out of 11 wins. The ashen-colored racehorse eventually moved on from the regional stage to take on the nationals, winning a number of high profile races including the G1s Arima Kinen and Yasuda Kinen between 1988-1990. Oguri Cap and his brightest feats, which had drawn a horse racing boom in the country, have been memorialized with a statue inside the racecourse.

Uma Musume: Cinderella Gray resurged interest in the historical scene. People travelled to the town to visit the racecourse and enjoy collaboration events involving local businesses and authorities. Not only that, the town was faithfully recreated in the series and many - including me - became interested in sightseeing some of the actual locations that appeared in Cinderella Gray. Maps were available pointing out several obvious spots around town.

The summer heat was bordering punishing but otherwise Kasamatsu is a very nice place with wholesome people! It was both a pleasant and inspiring experience to witness where Oguri Cap began his story. Would love to go here again on a racing day! taken in Kasamatsu, Gifu by @dam_dum

<<Animelo Summer Live 2025: ThanXX>>

8/29/25 - 8/31/25

Finally made it back to Japan after two years, this time to watch a concert!

At first, as a newly crazed BanG Dream fan I just wanted to catch Ave Mujica - anywhere, really! But luckily found out that Anisama in Japan is celebrating their 20th anniversary this year and planned to hold a live show with a very strong lineup. Never mind one BanG Dream band, there'd be four - and more than a dozen other performers!

Spent three days in Saitama Super Arena fulfilling the dreams of watching my new favorite bands, as well as other performers whose songs threw me as far as back  when I was still in senior high. Not ashamed to say I shed tears every single day as they're all that overwhelming. What's most impressive to me is the experience of connecting with the performers by using lightsticks, changing colors to match their own theme. And of course at some moment we made human waves and cheering moves! I also saw how some big, well-known names were able to rile up the crowd just by a few initial riffs of their songs!

No mandatory national anthem were sung, unlike in a certain country. But all the performers came together at the end of every day and sang an original thematic song conveying messages of peace, unity, and togetherness - oneness, they say.

ThanXX indeed to all the Anisama performers and organizers for making this unforgettable experience happen! Hopefully this music fes will continue to go on - and I can come again in the future!

-Ave Mujica - Roselia - Poppin' Party - It's MyGO!!!!! - Fripside - ReoNA - Eir Aoi - KOTOKO - May'n - TRUE - ZAQ - JAM Project - Sphere - TrySail - FLOW - Lia - Yoko Ishida - Konomi Suzuki - Fhana - LiSA - Saint Snow - Guilty Kiss - iM@S Millionstars - and everybody else!! by @dam_dum
