Meet the Knights: Dame Cecily Molyneux!

Dame Cecily Molyneux was born the only daughter of a small town miller. How did she become a knight, you ask? Well come one, come all and hear the tale of an only daughter who traded an unwanted marriage arrangement for the life of a traveling performer.

Unfortunately, acting, singing, and dancing her way across Europe didn't pay very well. Just as coin was running dangerously low, Cecily discovered the world of the tournament field and used her dancing skills to learn the way of the sword (alarming quickly, some might say). She lives for putting on a show, good fun and good money, freedom, and the adoration of the crowd.

Four years ago, I started Seattle Knights Academy (for the first time) with Sebastian Hesse , thinking it would be a fun thing we could try together, but with very few expectations beyond that. Turns out, it was *definitely a fun thing to do together, and so much more. I gained a group of SUCH wonderful, supportive friends and mentors by joining this organization. Real ride-or-die friends that help each other out however they can, I can't overstate how lovely this group of people are.
Long story short, I wasn't able to graduate from the Academy that first time (had a child instead, lol) but I had the bug, and after enough time to adjust to being a mom, I went back and did Academy and my first "yeoman" year of performing over the last two years. With lots of support from SK, my family, and my AH-mazing husband, I was able to attend most of our major shows over the last season and I'm EXTREMELY excited and proud to say I earned my knighthood last night!!!!
I'm sure there will continue to be challenges to get Sebastian and I both equally active out on the field of battle, with a young one and jobs to work around, but we will get it done, and I'm so, so, excited for next season, and all the ones to come!! ⚔️⚔️⚔️ by @dame_cecily

New hair. Will take time to figure out how to style it different ways, but I really like how it came out. It's been probably like 8-9 years since it's been anywhere near this short!
