Things that make you go hmm 🤔 by @damfaraway

On my walk today. The heat has let up a bit, so I went on a Sunday stroll to appreciate the beautiful city I am living in. 😍 by @damfaraway

There’s my sign? 😁 by @damfaraway

Update: 😢 This mini is now gone. It was removed by the sculptor of the original (big) sculpture. He didn’t appreciate the addition to his art. 😬

If you walk a little ways from the last statue you will find the next new mini statue placed by Kolodko.

He’s a guerrilla sculptor that somewhat secretly places these statues around town - and out of town. They usually have some sort of cultural, political, or historical relevance.

This guy is seen trying to move a highly debated monument in Szabadság tér - the Memorial for the Victims of the German Occupation. by @damfaraway

One of the new Kolodko statues in Budapest near Szabadság tér. I think he may be for the 80th anniversary of the forint. The previous currency, the pengő, wasn’t worth the paper it was printed on and people were just throwing them in the streets. There is a historic photo the statue was fashioned after of a street sweeper sweeping piles of currency.

If you’re visiting Budapest, I highly recommend going on a hunt for these statues. You get a nice tour of the city and you learn a little about the place in the meantime. by @damfaraway

I love this place and I love home. I’m a little verklempt right now 🥹 by @damfaraway

Don’t knock long layovers! My 7.5hr layover in Philadelphia allowed me to hop in a cab and meet up with my friend @monikaphila from Instagram (also, never pass on an opportunity to meet an Instafriend)! We share a love of travel and photography, but also so much more.

Hit a lot of major sites in Philly and made a list for next time. by @damfaraway

Tyler Childers - my “must see” at Jazz Fest on the first weekend.

I know a couple people that would be on my “biting list” 😂 if you think it’s you 🤔🤨😂😂😂 by @damfaraway

Northside Skull and Bone Gang - a Mardi Gras tradition that dates back to 1819. Starting at 5:00am on Mardi Gras day, these guy go door to door in the Treme neighborhood of New Orleans waking up the neighbors and spreading peace.
