It’s been a 2 years, 7 months, and 10 days journey.
If I count all the health challenges and diagnosis I’ve lived through, then most of my life.

Looking back, I see God’s hand all over my journey. From the diagnosis of pulmonary TB to the struggles, the weight of uncertainty, and the long road to healing, God carried me through it all. Today, I stand healthier, stronger, and deeply grateful. This is my testimony, a reminder that no valley is too deep for God’s grace to reach.

God saved my life, I mean it literally.
Thank you, Jesus.

If you’re in a tough season, hold on, God is not done with you.

Maybe you’ve been holding it together for so long that even you have forgotten what it feels like to be okay.

You show up, you smile, you get things done. But somewhere inside, you’re tired, anxious, overwhelmed, or carrying things you don’t quite know how to explain.

And maybe you’ve wondered if anyone would understand if you finally said it out loud.

I want you to know that you don’t have to keep pretending you’re fine. You deserve a space where you can be honest, where your struggles aren’t dismissed, and where you can begin to understand what you’re feeling without shame.

Join us tomorrow at Mind of a Woman for Demystifying Mental Health: An Honest Conversation on Anxiety and the Struggles We Carry Quietly.

Come as you are. You don’t have to have the right words.

There are people struggling with their mental health and don’t even realize it. Others know something isn’t right but are afraid to speak up because of the stigma.

So, when someone opens up to you, listen without judging. You don’t have to have all the answers; just don’t make them regret speaking.

3 YEARS LOC’D! šŸ„¹ā¤ļø

On October 3, 2023, I started my microlocs journey with 512 locs. I trusted the process, and three years later, what a journey it has been!

From the research phase to installation, the budding, teenage, awkward, shrinkage, and mature stages, my locs have taken me through it all. šŸ˜‚

We’ve even had the falling-out and thinning phase. 🄲 This is where I currently am, but a disclaimer: my hair loss is a reaction to a health challenge, not simply a normal part of my loc journey.

I started with 512 locs. I’m not sure how many I have left, but we’ll count them one of these days. 🄺

Despite it all, locking my hair remains one of the best decisions I’ve made. I’m focused on restoring its health and enjoying the journey, one stage at a time.

Three years later, I’m embracing the good, navigating the not-so-good, and giving myself grace along the way.

So yes, when they say trust the process, believe them.

What’s your locs journey been like? Tell me in the comments.

The gap is becoming too obvious.

We’re reaching the girls, but we can’t afford to leave the boys behind.

After visiting four schools this week, I’m even more convinced that we need men who are willing to step up, show up, and have meaningful conversations with young boys.

We need more people on this team.
Especially men.

If you’re based in Lagos and available to join school visits during the week, the volunteer application link is in my bio.

And if you’d like to support the work financially, you can send your contribution to:
Account Name: Oluwadamilola Adejoro
Bank: First Bank
Account Number: 3144818296

Every contribution helps us make these conversations possible.

You’re just in your 30s fgs!
Who sold us the lie that there’s a deadline to our 30s?

You are just beginning to get it right, and that is very okay.
Stop listening to all those ā€œ10 things you should have achieved in your 20sā€ lists.

As long as you have breath, you can achieve anything. You can start anything you want. You can go again at something you once failed at or pretended to have figured out. You can find yourself. You can try new things. You can learn anything now. You can live your best life yet. You can do your best.

So, you are not late. Your 30s are not a deadline.

Whether you’re in your 20s, 30s, 40s, or 50s, you can still become who you were meant to be. by @damiadejoro

OLUWADAMILOLA GRACE ADEJORO
First of her kind, none like her.

ā€œGraceā€ isn’t just a name sitting in the middle of my full name. It has become the language of my story.

You see that GRACE in my name? It is my reality. God’s grace has carried me o.

I am a literal example of a human being carried by God. There are things I cannot explain by my strength, my wisdom, my planning, or even my ability to keep going.

Grace.

I look at my life and I know, without an iota of doubt—this has been God.

And maybe that’s what growing older is teaching me more and more: to look back at my life and recognise the fingerprints of God everywhere.

There was actually a time I wanted to use my middle name as my first name because, well, Grace is my reality. šŸ˜‚

But whether I front it or it sits in the middle, it is still a representation of my life.

I think my parents saw something I couldn’t see yet. They gave me a name that would eventually become a testimony.

Grace is my testimony.

And now, at thirty-one, I look at my life and realize that they named me right. Whoosh!

And to everyone who celebrated me today — thank you. Truly. by @damiadejoro

A LIVING, BREATHING, WALKING MIRACLE!

Ready for chapter THIRTY ONE.
I am because You are.
I will be because You have been.
It’s a new day for me.

It feels surreal that it’s me, Your baby girl, clicking this age. How can I, a baby, be thirty, and now thirty-one? Somehow, the number and the person still feel like strangers to each other, but here we are. Lol. šŸ˜‚

Everything I am, everything I have, everything I’ve walked through and everything I’ll become, it’s all because of You. You’ve been with me through it all. And because I have You, I have it all.

Thank You, Daddy, from the bottom of my heart.
May my life and my story bring glory to You.
May I never succeed at what You didn’t send me to do. May there never be a version of me that outgrows You, Lord.

I am so ready for all You are doing and You have set to do with me.

For 31 years, thank You, Jesus. I’m deeply grateful.
Nothing missing. Nothing broken.

Happy birthday to me. 🄳 taken in Birthday Girl by @damiadejoro

I’ll be ungrateful if I let my mood dictate my posture.
And my posture is gratitude all the days of my life.

This was very important for me to share. I saw someone do this a few days ago, and it got me thinking about how far God has brought me. It was a needed reminder that even when nothing is perfect, with many questions, weary days, or moments when I struggle to see His goodness—God is good.

It was just three years ago that I couldn’t eat or walk for a while. I remember telling God, while lying on that emergency bed, that if He saved me, I would never forget His benefits. So this is me keeping that promise, privately and publicly, as I said I would. He kept me.

Today is my birthday, and truthfully, I’m not excited about it at all. But I decided to remind myself that even when it doesn’t look like it, God has been faithful.

And His faithfulness in the past is enough reassurance for my future.

It has been four years of walking through major seasons of darkness. And here I am, still standing, laughing, rejoicing, and bouncing in the Lord.

So today, I remember His benefits.
I remember that I am alive.
I remember that I am here.
I remember that He has kept me.

And I choose gratitude.
Thank You, Jesus.

God is good. Always. by @damiadejoro
