Damnation is a young band from The Netherlands. The foursome consist of teenagers who've formed the band out of a passion for classic old school Death Metal, the way it was done in the late eighties/early nineties. Over the past few months, they've made quite the impression on the Dutch Metal scene and shown that they're a force to be reckoned with. They've scored themselves a slot to be the opener of the legendary Dynamo Metal Fest, as winners of the Dynamo Metal Battle and they were co-headlining the newfound Delly Deathfest the weekend after. Clearly, there's potential to be found here. Just before their show at Dynamo Metal Fest, Damnation released their debut full-length 'Reign of the Undead' without the support of a major label. Although there was some interest from underground labels to put out 'Reign of the Undead', the band chose...

Damnation – A Night of Metal at Manifesto 11 september 2026 -
On 11 September 2026, Damnation took the stage at Manifesto in Hoorn during the Metal Manifesto evening and delivered a powerful and highly energetic metal show.
What immediately stands out about this band is just how incredibly young all four members are. Yet, despite their age, they already have the drive, confidence and stage presence of a much more experienced band. If they can put on a show like this at such a young age, there is undoubtedly a very exciting future ahead of them.

Damnation consists of Mika van Tok on lead guitar and backing vocals, Joris Tolhuijs on drums, Jan van der Werff on bass, and Manu Yaël on lead vocals and rhythm guitar.

The band is clearly driven by an enormous passion for what they do. From the moment they hit the stage, they give everything they have, creating an energetic performance that is impossible to ignore. Their enthusiasm and commitment come across in every song, making it clear that this is a band with ambition and something to prove.

For a concert photographer, Damnation is also a fantastic band to capture. And then there is drummer Joris Tolhuijs. With his incredible 1970s look, he almost seems to have stepped straight out of the seventies and somehow landed in the present day. Combined with his energy behind the drum kit, he is an absolute dream subject for any photographer looking for striking and characterful images.

Damnation may still be very young, but their performance at Metal Manifesto showed that age is certainly no limitation when it comes to passion, energy and talent.

Keep an eye on this band — their journey has only just begun. | all pictures at: https://www.stagesnapper.com/damnation-metal-manifesto-hoorn/ taken in Manifesto Hoorn by @damnation.dm
