🇰🇷🍚 Authentic Korean pot rice straight from South Korea to Los Angeles.

Damsot LA brings the traditional Korean sotbap experience to the heart of Koreatown, specializing in individually prepared rice pots topped with flavorful ingredients and served alongside Korean side dishes.

We tried three different varieties: Pork Belly, Kimchi, and Unagi (Eel). From the rich, savory pork belly to the bold kimchi flavors and tender glazed eel, each pot offers a different take on Korean comfort food. 🥢✨

One of the most interesting parts of the experience comes at the end. After transferring the rice and toppings into a separate bowl, you pour hot barley tea over the crispy layer of rice left at the bottom of the pot. This creates nurungji, a traditional Korean scorched rice dish with a comforting, toasted flavor.

Originally from South Korea, Damsot brings a dining tradition that goes beyond a typical rice bowl, making it a great addition to LA’s incredible Koreatown food scene.

At H15DEN, we’re always looking for restaurants that introduce people to different food cultures and dining traditions. Damsot is exactly that kind of experience, combining traditional Korean cooking with a modern, beautifully presented approach.

My favorite restaurant chain in Korea is also right here in LA!

I’ve had Damsot multiple times while I was in Korea, so I was SO excited to try their only U.S. location in Ktown! They’re known for their authentic Korean pot rice dishes, served with all the delicious toppings and side dishes that make Korean comfort food so good.

Everything we tried was seriously SO good and brought me right back to Korea. If you love Korean food or want to try something a little different from your usual Ktown spots, you definitely need to check out Damsot!

First time trying Damsot LA’s Korean pot rice — sotbap (솥밥) 🇰🇷🍚 and this is definitely a meal I’d come back for!

We got:
🥩 Steak Pot Rice
🥬 Kimchi Pork Pot Rice
🍗 Fire Chicken Pot Rice
🍣 Salmon Pot Rice
🍋 Cold Noodle Tofu Set

My favorites were definitely the Steak Pot Rice, Kimchi Pork & Fire Chicken! The Kimchi Pork and Fire Chicken were especially flavorful — and both were actually our server’s recommendations. 👏

Everything tasted so fresh, and I loved that we didn’t leave feeling overly heavy after the meal. Damsot focuses on carefully prepared dishes made with premium ingredients, and you can really taste the difference.

And don’t forget about the crispy rice at the bottom of the pot! 🍚✨ It’s one of my favorite parts of pot rice, and you can add barley tea to the pot for a warm, comforting finish.

If you’re looking to try something new, definitely add Korean pot rice to your list! 🇰🇷
