🎣 New Year, New Challenges.

For Dan Hawkes, it’s not about resolutions, it’s about raising the bar, pushing limits, and chasing that next moment that makes it all worth it.

Whatever your goals are this year — a new PB, a new venue, or just more time on the bank — get out there and make it count.

📍The next bite could change everything.

UK Sales Manager @dan.hawkes_ went on his annual trip to Lake Serene with close mates @thomasduncandunlop and @pickettkeith and what a six days it turned out to be.

On the very first day and just the second bite of his session, Dan slipped the net under 'The Big Girl', with pure elation he let out the biggest scream across the lake and all the lads and lake owner came around to weigh and witness the incredible fish and to share the special moment with him 🔥

On the scales the enormous common went round to 89lb and the fish of Dan's dreams was finally his, It's one of the biggest common carp in Europe and it was a privilege for him to have caught it 😱

Dan used his favourite European rig which is a D rig constructed from 35lb CamoX soft hooklink, size 4 APE-X Medium Curve hooks and a Sub Zero Lead Free Leader with a Uni Lead Clip. His hookbait of choice was a Mainline Baits Essential Cell Quad bottom bait and pop up fished as a snowman over a light spread of Essential Cell chops and mixed particle.

From everyone at Ridgemonkey, a massive well done Dan! 🙌

A lovely cold water common falling to a little dumbell hard hookbait tipped with a yellow pillow fishing over Boilies.

I like to keep it simple during the colder months using rigs and a baiting approach that I have maximum confidence in to keep bites coming.

The opportunity to fish a Friday night came around after football was cancelled and it didn’t disappoint with a brace of 30’s with this one going 38lb.
Simple boilie tactics working wonders on the syndicate.

My fishing has been pretty slow over the last few months but for good reasons. Work, family and my football club has kept me really busy and it’s been great to watch Elevate grow as a company and to now be working with over 120 retailers is fantastic, spending quality time with my beautiful wife and children and to put the effort into Elham ensuring the facilities have had a full upgrade and means we have gave the future generations the foundations to succeed.

A lovely 35lb mirror from Saturday morning has been part of a very successful few overnighters back on the bank. by @dan.hawkes_

The result of a work overnighter was this lovely 36.8 mirror, the bite coming just an hour before it was time for the rods to come in. Simple tactics fishing over a spread of boilies with two banana and pineapple pillows over the top.

A quick over night between work resulting in a 36lb 8oz mirror for Dan Hawkes.

With very limited time to get the rods out a quick night produced this lovely mirror to our new test bait & matching hookbaits.

Dan Hawkes recently got out for a quick session on the Chilston Stour and was rewarded with this mega original.

An incredible looking carp first thing in the morning that took a liking to Dan’s Spicy Chorizo/Garlic Infusion cement mix.

We are seeing more and more of our customers having great success using these 2 baits together.

Well done Dan, great angling 👏👏

A 24 hour filming trip with Trakker resulted in fish being landed across two different lakes. Both venues we were utilising liquids to great success showing just how I get the best from the liquids I use.

It’s feels great to get the rods back out after a month of no fishing. It’s been a busy time with a family holiday, a busy work schedule along with full refurbishment’s happening at my football clubs ground.

Here is one of the fish from my latest YouTube video 24 hours on the Stour - Syndicate Fishing.

This lovely mirror was the smallest of three fish, utilising summer tactics.
