Part Three - Bodrum, Türkiye.

This week was for switching completely off, laying by the beach, getting a tan (well, for some, Rob will forever be in the shade!), and really relaxing. Mission accomplished.

Along with some incredible food, beautiful company and sunsets and views that are simply incredible.

And @macakizihotel delivers. It’s old world, understated luxury. Incredible service that’s always there but never in your face. Simple, functional and perfect rooms that capture the views. You feel a world away, and totally at home here - highly recommend and @travelbygginspired will always help you out.

We also got to celebrate four years of being married. We are pretty lucky to have found each other we think, and we know how lucky we are. Hold on to the ones you love, go on the holiday, eat the food (which we’ve done plenty of!), drink the champagne (again, plenty of that!) and live life in the happiest way you can.

The water was divine. Fresh, crisp, salty and doing all the things that only a dip in the ocean can do.

The food in Türkiye is incredible, and the little restaurants all around the hotel were amazing. Great service, fresh seafood, delicious!

Are we relaxed yet? The rakı definitely helped!

Growing up and going JetSkiing was always one of my favourite things to do with my Uncle and Aunty - so anytime we can, I will always take the chance to get out on the water!

And it was @i_am_heidi_b first time - nailed it!!

Part Two - Cappadocia.

Words can’t describe the spectacular scenery of Cappadocia - and as our fab sister-in-law @mdoran22 put it, it really looks like the inside a Windows screensaver!!

Flying above the clouds at sunrise with @royalballoon is a once in a lifetime experience that you really should add to your bucket list! We flew through the valleys up close to the most spectacular scenery and then took in the view from more than 3000ft! It looks like AI, and to be honest, felt a little like it too - but promise you it is real!

And then our little horse riding adventure - a sunset ride that quickly turned into a summer storm with lightning, thunder and pouring rain - lucky we are basically jackaroos!

The food is as good as it gets - especially at the little local places where barely a word of English is spoken! Truly wow!

Highly recommend. And the stunning @argosincappadocia is a beautiful place to stay! @travelbygginspired strikes again!

Part One - Istanbul, Türkiye 🇹🇷

What an incredibly vibrant city. Amazing food, stunning scenery, layers upon layers of history, and best of all, experiencing it all with some of our favourite people.

Türkiye feels like a country at a crossroads. But what we noticed and paid attention to were the people we met - warm, kind and welcoming, with so many conversations coming back to the same hopes for their country and the wider region - peace, acceptance and a future where people from all walks of life can simply live their lives.

Vermont and Chicago — what a way to spend a week!!

We started in Burlington, Vermont to celebrate with @jonathankaplan_ and @chloe_shoff for what can only be described as a weekend full of love. Congrats, you two!

And Burlington itself didn’t disappoint — what a stunning part of the world. Biking, hiking and sailing… nature delivered! And then, of course, there are the people who made our time there so wonderful. Thanks for letting us join the Kaplan family, Brian and Melissa! Abby and Rachel, you two are simply gorgeous humans (and you too, Sam!). Lisa and Dave, what a treat it was to be out on the water with you and celebrate all weekend together.

Then we headed to Chicago. Truly, this city surprised us. The architecture, the soul, the culture, the shopping, the ingenuity—both today and seemingly since the dawn of time—and the food! Even though Rob was working, we still managed to see so much, including an architecture tour and a visit to the Obama Presidential Center, which words simply can’t describe.

A big highlight for me was scoring a ticket to see @meganomullally and @nickofferman in their hilarious musical, @iceboymusical

NYC felt different this time. We started to feel less like tourists, and more like visiting a place that is starting to feel familiar, and a big part of that is because @rob_tano is such a great city host - seamlessly integrating us into his circle, and making NYC feel small, even though she’s anything but - so a huge thank you from us xx

Of course, we still did the tourist things - the High Line, The Whitney, saw amazing shows - from local drag to top tier Broadway - ate at great restaurants, and celebrated the 4th of July at the Macy’s Rooftop Party.

Should’ve gone to Specsavers… 🤓 Turns out, I did. And with our family history of glaucoma, eye health is something that’s always been important.

Three weeks into the new gig as State Director for NSW and the ACT and I’ve spent a lot of time meeting teams, partners and seeing the business up close - but it’s only scratching the surface!

What else? Specsavers isn’t just about eyes, we can help you hear better too!

Plus, the people are great, and whilst I’m totally out of my comfort zone - having gone from knowing everyone and everything, to knowing nothing and nearly no-one, it’s a big lesson in vulnerability!!

But it’s great to be back working with my OG work-wife @msktslade - are they sure they know what they’re getting when we’re together?? by @dan_hillier

Japan, what a ride. Loved every second of it. And even though it wasn’t planned this way — and I missed @rob_mc_syd and having others around — doing it solo was actually fab. There’s so much to see, do and eat that I was never bored for a second.

The food? Divine. Some of the best I’ve ever eaten, mostly from the places I didn’t research and just randomly stumbled into. The people? So kind. And somehow, in a city with a population bigger than all of Australia, Tokyo still managed to feel quiet, and calm.

The shopping completely overwhelmed me in the best possible way… and I already need to come back. Or maybe South Korea ….

Also, they (whoever “they” are?) say you learn more about yourself on a solo holiday than you do in two normal years and… honestly, can confirm. It’s been a long time since I’ve travelled on my own. Huge thanks to @travelbygginspired for making it all so easy!

The main thing though — and this might be controversial — but why the hell do people like matcha? It literally tastes like grass. My current theory is that everyone’s pretending to like it, because I have never related to the meme in the last pic more in my life.

Wrapped up a massive nearly 13 years with @terrywhitechemmart yesterday. Was the time of my life. I’ve worked in pharmacy for nearly 30 years, and it’s made me who I am. The best part of the last thirteen years, was I got to do it all with one of my best friends @peelyadam - and as fate would have it, he also is on to a new adventure.

I’ve made the best of friends from TWC - too many to mention - and have become a better person because of the lessons I’ve learned. Looking forward to a month off and then the next chapter! 👓 by @dan_hillier

And just like that, the three days (that then turned into five!) for the @terrywhitechemmart Shaping the Future of Care conference are done.

So much work goes into building and executing an event like this, and it’s all worth it. There are so many people to thank and every single one of them gives this event for the TWC network their all - Abbey Mac and Kelly Young are the stars who pull it all together, supported by the amazing Broads and @dreamweaverseventcreators who make everything just work and of course the amazing speakers from inside and outside of TWC - but mostly, the network who show up every day for their community!!
