POSTS STORIES REELS

This is the first piece entitled "Hope" of my series: This is a DARK TIME.

During April 2025, the nation's conscience was touched by the premature death of 11-year-old Adrianna Younge at the Double Day Hotel in Tuschen, which fueled protests and a severe lack of trust. The nation mourned.
I could recall the agony and frustration experienced by the family that no one deserves. This was long overdue, but let's not forget Adrianna Younge!
....
Luke 12 v 2-3
For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known. Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.

This is my 2nd piece of the "This is a DARK TIME" series entitled "The MV Barima." On July 18th, 2026, the MV Barima sunk, claiming 73 lives with 30 passengers missing and only 76 rescues. This disaster even took the lives of entire families, including children. This left my heart heavy, which compelled me to create this piece. Condolences to all the families and friends in this. tragic time.

Symbols:

Red water - represents the many lives lost and the rage of the public.

Names - highlights the passenger that passed due to the tragedy.

1939-2026 - signifies the years of service of the MV Barima indicating that it was working beyond its life span.

Drooped flag - symbolizes the systematic failures as a nation.

Romans 14:12: "So then each of us will give an account of himself to God."

This was a collaboration with @aribelle._.art for @inktober based on the theme: "bake."
Although inks are usually expected, I couldn't resist the urge to include some acrylic. The first piece highlights a dude who is drawn in by the scents of cake or pastry baking from a home. Have you ever experienced this? I also had some Van Gogh inspiration with the smoke. While @aribelle._.art piece is of a woman enjoying a sweet treat. Finally our pending collaboration has came to fruition.

It's not how you start but how you finish. Along the journey, there are a few things I added to make this feel more complete. The composition was the hardest part.

Title: The Roots
Dimension: 16”*20”
Theme: The Ecological Crisis

This is my piece for the @artpartner and @earthpartner competition entitled “The Roots” which focuses on the cry for ecological justice. I revisited the "Metamorphosis" series. This is a mixed media piece of acrylic paint, graphite and colour pencils highlighting some major causes of climate change and effects:

Deforestation – demonstrates the soil carbon loss since eliminating more trees limit the carbon dioxide absorption capacity. Released into the air are gases.

Soil pollution – the showcase of the soil within the hands combined with plastic and metal represent how this pollution releases emissions (carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide and methane) into the atmosphere. The soil structure is degraded along with the microbes responsible for storing organic carbon. The hand morphs into a tree stump which is a symbolism for a major cause of the destruction.

Smoke pollution – Emerging from the factory is soot. The factory included contributes to black carbon (soot) which absorbs sunlight heating the atmosphere, eventually affecting the colder climates; hence the inclusion of the melting ice caps with the polar bear. This surreal phenomenon was added to illustrate the indirect cause and effect.

Acidification – within the water are bleached corals, a direct result of fossil fuel combustion. It becomes more acidic due to the excess carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

Algae – a direct result of nutrient runoff (fertilizers/sewage) which releases carbon dioxide and methane creating dead zones. Due to the depletion of oxygen within the water, the fish eventually perish.

Bird Migration – climate change, warmer temperatures and deforestation all cause birds to change their migration patterns as demonstrated.

Ecological justice – beneath the hand, there’s an imbalance of resources and nature. The gold having more weight is a symbol of humans gravitating more towards profits while neglecting the environment. This is a cry for ecological justice.

Psalm 19:1 : "The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork."

Title : "Pure Soul"
Series: "This is a DARK TIME"

On the 5th of June, 2026, Adriel A. Mohamed was murdered in cold blood at only 7 years old. It was one of the most heinous crimes. This reflects the vile and barbaric nature of the perpetrator. Thankfully, he was arrested, and may justice prevail. It compelled me to dedicate this piece to honouring Adriel A. Mohamed.
Symbols:
Background: represents the dark and evil world we live ina.
Blindfold: the innocent/pure nature of a child oblivious to the dangers of the world.
Jeremiah 17:9 "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?"

I thought I was finished with this piece but something felt so incomplete. After stumbling across a tribute from @aurisscribbles it prompted me to include the names of the victims from the MV Barima tragedy. My heart goes out to everyone affected by it 💔

Theme: The Innocent Bystanders

We were compelled to do this collab due to the world's current affairs. There are currently 4 notable wars: the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Israel-Gaza/Lebanon conflicts, civil war in Sudan, and internal conflict in Myanmar. One noticeable observation is that sides are being picked in the wars. However, the first thought should be the victims of war. It's sad to see how many civilians, including innocent children, suffer due to the decisions of higher authorities. We completely denounce such actions. No child should have to suffer such faith.

The first piece was done by yours truly @dan_i_dun and highlights a bloodied Palestinian child standing in the ruins in the aftermath of an Israeli bombardment, Gaza, Palestine. This reveals the raw truth and reality of kids' experiences during war. It was a very difficult subject matter. However, we can't escape the reality of the world's current affairs and must make it known.

The second piece was done by an anonymous artist and is a crayon study of a little girl's backpack who got martyred in school. This is a remnant of a dark reality. The absence of human life emanates a horrific and eerie feeling ; the only evidence left, her bag.

The third piece entitled "Petals" was done by @jalapeno_mind
Words in wartime can indeed "kill someone's character," or worse, their very life, through propaganda, dehumanization, and the incitement of hatred. The "petals" we show to the world during war can be a facade of strength or unity, masking the deep "bruises" of trauma and loss. And the concept of "living in the moment" becomes a desperate necessity for survival, as the inevitable "falling" of petals represents the fallen soldiers and the shattered lives.
