Quick little recap of some of my highlights operating at the NBA All Stars 2025.

Extremely long week filled with blood(thankfully my ear is still on my head 😂), sweat and stress but very glad to have had the opportunity to be a part of it!

Definitely the largest production I’ve been part of, and not one I’ll forget... huge learning opportunity from the show and the other ops.

It’s only been 2 days.. everyone keeps saying it, it literally doesn’t feel real..

I met Sam in 2017 through Jake, over the years grew to love him as one of my closest friends and a brother. Even though most of our connection was originally grounded in work, Sam, Tom and Jake as the three on camera and me behind the camera documenting… he always treated me more as a friend and brother than a co-worker from early on.

Through the early days on set, through some of the darker days, as roommates in LA, his recovery, highs and lows in our friendship, the new life he made for himself and the new person he became (I called him Super Sam from time to time)… he put his contact name in my phone as “Sam King the Big Dick Assassin” and I’ve just never changed it 😂…

He was always there to give advice when i asked for it, help even when I didn’t ask, the biggest smile at any moment, and never afraid to tell me “don’t be a bitch” or things like “if you wanna life life looking like a used car salesman” cuz that’s just how we got along. He always pushed me to do and be better - in work, health and life.

He gave me a lot of older brother style tough love… always called me Larry… pretty sure my contact name used to be Larry Dan Owens West… but it always came from his oversized heart. Always was the first person I’d call when I planned a trip to LA, he’d let me crash on the couch, be down to grab lunch or offer a spot to try if he wasn’t available.

I’m thankful that I got to be apart of his life and call him family. One of the only people that I’ve ever been comfortable talking with, and if you know me, you know that’s a big deal.

I just moved back into the house in September and was looking forward to being back in LA, part time but mostly hanging with Sam, being roommates again and working together more consistently.

This hurts more than I can put into words, it’s confusing and it’s devastating. And as I know others are feeling the same, someone who is such a big piece of your daily life - even at a distance - I’m not sure what normal looks like from here on. Everything feels wrong since that night…

1 of 1 for sure…
Miss you so damn much already brother…

4th CrossFit Open in the books, 4th year at @residentcrossfit ✅
So many cardio, so many rep… 26.1/2/3 was the worst.
Year over year improvement has been pretty fun to see and feel 📈
