Fr777 jam 8: Distemperance. The fr777 is settling in as a standard tool. This dark and foreboding jam is all about emotions. Atmospherics build tension. The fr777 goes from groove to scream. Mixed up the toolkit a bit. @futureretrosynthesizers 777 synth on the leadline. @weareelektron on the box. #synth #acid #303 #dawless by @dan_kushner

FutureRetro jam 7. The World. The world is not enough. Carefully constructed. This jam had 3 days of revisions before it clicked. Heavy and deep reflections. The world is not enough. #techno #acid #303 @futureretrosynthesizers by @dan_kushner

Pounding insanity. Technical notes- cross osc mod madness. As the filter opens I’m moving up the osc b->a mod which increases a dimension of it screaming atonally. This patch already has tons of pitch envelope and FMing. I was going for a brutal but hypnotic percussive effect. Pentacles reversed. #techno #pentacles #acid @futureretrosynthesizers #elektron by @dan_kushner

Night 5 on the FR777 from @futureretrosynthesizers wanted to show off the fat tone so I didn’t crank the res. Also, used some of the remix function on this one. The road to a full set is well underway. I return to full length sessions on my twitch channel in November! #acid #techno #live #synthtok by @dan_kushner

OHHHHSHZZZZEIT THIS IS WHY I GOT THIS. Listen to the @futureretrosynthesizers 777 scream on the 7 pole filter. This jam kicks up to 140 and uses some seasoning of probabilities and other sequencer tricks sparingly to liven things up. FUN THING @weareelektron new twinshot machine is responsible for the 909 tom pattern which is actually a 909 top mixed with a Jupiter sample bottom. Also using the cv out to push the DB-01. Eventually going to patch this rig to my modular case. Anyway it’s big time techno with an old school flavor. I’m making my way through the month doing a jam a day on this rig, then the weekly stream with return on @gsg_live club Fridays. #techno #303 #acid by @dan_kushner

The @futureretrosynthesizers 777 reissue jam 3. The big thing to pay attention to here is that rachets can have probabilities. So 25% of the time (not one in every four, each time the probability resets). I’m also adding some cross mod sizzle. #techno #acid #synth #303 by @dan_kushner

Designed jam 2 on the 777 and the new 132 bpm set. I’m going to do some more jam design tomorrow to show off how to use remix as a fill option. On this one I wanted to show off the gate va env switch which modulates the amp envelope, and I have the pitch envelope on osc B dialed in hard so the bassline sounds like percussion. When you crank the amount your pitch goes up to accommodate the drop but it can lead to tuning issues so you need to either plan for them or go atonal. The pitch envelope is a feature the 303 never had. #techno #303 #acid #synth by @dan_kushner

Over the next month I’m going to be featuring the FR 777 reissue daily. The sound engine is unchanged and it is an insane analog acid bassline machine. The sequencer is simultaneously the same perfect 303 sequencer from before but now with scale and remix and loop performability. I’m going to share things about it as I go and redesigning my 132 BPM techno set along the way. As October fades into November it’ll all get integrated with Tonverk and RYTM and I’ll start building towards both 132 and 175 BPM sets. #techno #acid #303 #777 by @dan_kushner

First sketch on Tonverk. I’m far from fluent yet but I’m getting there. It’s really interesting. My obsession with @weareelektron continues. Really I spent a week multisampling and making new kits, and that gives this box a capability I’ve never encountered on a device. The usb connectivity is also crazy. I need to spend more time with busses and plocks and exploring the other machines, but the future is bright! by @dan_kushner
