Though she is ageless, this past Monday, was Marilyn Monroe’s 100th birthday. It was a perfect sunny day here in LA celebrating her. Visiting her resting place where many put flowers, love notes, and their good energy in the morning and then celebrating at the Academy Museum in the evening at her exhibit with Michael Feinstein, Pink Martini, Dita Von Teese and many other beautiful friends—we toasted our immortal icon Marilyn on her very special day. 💋

Also, what a lovely way to kick off PRIDE month. A toast to all of you….may you shine authentically and beautifully this month and beyond.

@eastwestplayers is an incredibly precious theatre company in Los Angeles that is the nation’s largest and longest running Asian American Theater. Last night, I saw their final performance of their final show of their 60th year- David Wong’s reimagined Rogers & Hammerstein’s Flower Drum Song. Attending at the invitation of @dan_sing_dan we gathered with some of the most dedicated social justice leaders in Los Angeles including @madamechang1 @pattigiggans and others. For a lot of us… looking optimistically to the horizon feels like a Herculean task right now. So much chaos and heartbreak to wrap our heads and hearts around. Which is why I’m super grateful that this past Sunday, two angelic voices and artists, @sarabareilles and @cynthiaerivo chose to sing “Tomorrow” from ‘Annie’ at the Tony’s, honoring that particular musical’s composer, Charles Strouse, whom we lost this past year. I’m grateful they chose this song because it’s been an earworm for this really challenging week where I find myself singing it often to myself. That, then reminded me, I had this beautiful clip of @instatituss singing that same song at our dear friend @alexmohajer ‘s first fundraiser for his state senate campaign a few springs ago. I share that now hoping it provides you some inspiration to keep showing up for your community. We are stronger in love and we are stronger together.

Happy 40th Birthday to one of my favorites @lucillelawrence

A mystical human that can always make me giggle and relish in delicious moments no matter the mood. She is one who captures and perpetuates beauty… not to mention radiates it. And she allows her humans the ability to be our goofiest and our most elegant within the same breath…dancing through life…croissant, berries, and (Northern 😏 ) Californian sparking wine in tow.

P.S. When one moves to Berkeley and dreams of having quintessential hippie-artsy-dreamer friends…I got my Lucille…what great fortune!!! by @dan_sing_dan
