🎃⚖️🇺🇸 Three things to celebrate today! 1️⃣ Halloween — a little good-natured fright! 2️⃣ 21 YEARS of practicing law — and still fighting the good fight! 3️⃣ Early voting in the U.S. midterms — because democracy is worth showing up for! The only question is: after 21 years in immigration law, how many election cycles, and all those Halloween scares… which one has actually gotten scarier? 😂 Happy Halloween, everyone! And don’t forget to vote! 🗳️ by @danabucin

Few places capture the origins of the Romanian people as powerfully as Adamclisi. Here in Dobrogea stands the **Tropaeum Traiani**, the great monument commissioned by Emperor Trajan around *109 AD* to commemorate Rome’s victory over the Dacian and allied tribes following the fierce battles fought in this region during the Dacian Wars (101-102 and 105-106 AD). Trajan himself was a remarkable figure: born in *Hispania (modern-day Spain)*, he became one of Rome’s greatest emperors, expanding the Roman Empire to its largest territorial extent in history. His conquest of Dacia not only transformed the region politically and economically, but also began the centuries-long interaction between the Dacian population and Roman settlers, soldiers, merchants, and administrators. From this blending of Dacian and Roman civilizations emerged the Romanian people, a Latin-speaking nation unique in Eastern Europe and proud heir to both traditions. Standing before the monument at Adamclisi, one is reminded that Romania’s identity was not born overnight. It was forged through centuries of resilience, cultural exchange, and continuity. Nearly 2,000 years later, the legacy of the Dacians and Romans remains alive in the Romanian language, culture, and national consciousness. 🇷🇴 Visiting Adamclisi is not merely a journey into ancient history. It is an encounter with the very roots of what it means to be Romanian. #Adamclisi #TropaeumTraiani #Trajan #Dacians #RomanEmpire #Romania #RomanianHistory #RomanianHeritage #Dobrogea #DiscoverRomania #ProudToBeRomanian #RomanianRoots #RomanianIdentity #Repatriot #GlobalRomania #HistoryLivesOn 🇷🇴🏛️✨ by @danabucin
We are delighted to announce the inauguration of the Romanian Corner at Hartford Public Library! 🇷🇴📚🇺🇸 Save the date: October 25, 2026 — and join us for this historic moment. We invite everyone—Romanians, Americans, and friends of Romania—to be part of this new chapter. The Romanian Corner is more than a collection of books. It is a new space dedicated to bringing Romania’s history, culture, literature, and contemporary voices closer to the Connecticut community. Designed as an open and evolving cultural resource, it will offer access to books and other materials about Romania, while creating opportunities for cultural programs, conversations, exhibitions, and connections between Romanian and American communities. Its purpose is not simply to preserve a cultural heritage, but to make it accessible, shared, and alive: to invite people to discover Romania, encourage curiosity and dialogue, and open new paths for cultural exchange. Located within one of Hartford’s major public institutions, the Romanian Corner represents a lasting presence: a place where Romanian stories can be discovered, connections can be made, and culture can bring people closer together. We look forward to seeing it grow through the people, ideas, stories, and experiences it will bring together. History. Dialogue. Community. Belonging. #RomanianCorner #Romania #RomanianCulture #RomanianHeritage #RomanianCommunity #RomanianAmerican #RomanianDiaspora #Connecticut #HartfordCT #HartfordPublicLibrary #ConnecticutCulture #CulturalExchange #CulturalDiplomacy #CommunityConnections #RomanianLiterature #DiscoverRomania #RomaniaInConnecticut #RomanianAmericanCommunity #BuildingBridges #CulturalHeritage #CommunityBelonging #HistoryDialogueCommunity #RomaniaUSA #RomaniaInAmerica #October252026 by @danabucin
The first day of the Romanian Community Summit in Chicago was truly special. One of the highlights for me was meeting legendary Romanian gymnast Andreea Răducan, an athlete whose performances inspired an entire generation of Romanians. I still remember watching her compete on television and cheering for her from afar. Like so many Romanians, I felt enormous pride every time she represented our country on the world stage. Andreea Răducan is one of Romania's most accomplished gymnasts, an Olympic gold medalist in the team competition, Olympic silver medalist in vault, and multiple World Championship gold medalist whose grace, determination, and talent helped define an era of Romanian gymnastics. I also shared with her how proud I am of the work being done by Kratos Gymnastics in Connecticut. It is wonderful to see Romanian excellence and the Romanian gymnastics tradition continuing to inspire young athletes in our state through the efforts of coach Mihael, his wife Ashley and their team. The Romanian Community Summit brings together remarkable individuals from every field, but there is something especially meaningful about reconnecting with the heroes who inspired us. Meeting Andreea reminded me how much Romanian talent, discipline, and determination have contributed to the world's stage and continue to inspire future generations. Thank you, Andreea, for the memories, the inspiration, and for representing Romania with such distinction. 🇷🇴❤️🤸‍♀️ #RomanianCommunitySummit #RoSummit2026 #AndreeaRaducan #RomanianPride #RomanianExcellence #RomanianAmerican #Diaspora #Romania #Gymnastics #OlympicChampion #TeamRomania #Chicago #Connecticut #KratosGymnastics #RomanianCommunity #WomenOfRomania #Leadership #Inspiration #HonoraryConsul #ProudToBeRomanianProudToBeRomanian by @danabucin

At ICE office with other lawyers dealing with massive ICE raids, several detainees in CT that keep coming in, lesson: all immigrants with deportation orders, prior unlawful entries or no legal status SEE AN IMMIGRATION LAWYER RIGHT AWAY to seek legalization paths ASAP (yes they still exist). General public: please refer your immigrant neighbors who lack a solid status to lawyers ASAP. by @danabucin
🎉 CLIENT RELEASED FROM ICE CUSTODY! 🎉 Today, an Ecuadorian mother of three minor children was arrested by ICE. Her family called me in a panic. I dropped everything and went in person to get her released— while they were still gathering and sending me her immigration paperwork. Within hours, she was released and reunited with her children. ❤️🇪🇨 I also want to recognize the ICE officers who chose to act humanely and exercise compassion and discretion, allowing this mother to return home to her children. That humanity made a profound difference today. This case is also a reminder: ⚠️ Prepare before the emergency. No one expects to be arrested by ICE. If your immigration status is uncertain or irregular: 📂 Gather your immigration documents now. 👩‍⚖️ Retain an immigration attorney — or at least establish an attorney-client relationship before an emergency. Having documents ready and an attorney who already knows your case can save precious hours in detention. Today, the most important thing: ❤️ Mom is home. Three children have their mother back. That is what matters most. #ImmigrationLaw #ImmigrationAttorney #ICE #ICEDetention #ImmigrationJustice #ImmigrantRights #FamilyUnity #KeepFamiliesTogether #EcuadorianCommunity #ConnecticutImmigration #Humanity #Compassion by @danabucin
Ed Harris Day of Service is one of the best Harris Beach Murtha traditions. Every five years, colleagues across all of our offices come together to honor the legacy of our founding partner, Ed Harris, through community service projects in the places where we live and work. Founder Ed Harris was an English immigrant whose entrepreneurial spirit, commitment to clients, and dedication to community helped lay the foundation in 1856 for what is now Harris Beach Murtha. This year, the Hartford office spent the day with the Boys & Girls Club of Hartford, and it was a blast. We cooked, played sports, drew, laughed, and learned from a terrific group of middle school students. My favorite activity? Debate. Watching these kids tackle challenging questions, defend their viewpoints, and respectfully challenge one another was a powerful reminder that critical thinking is a skill worth cultivating early. #EdHarrisDayOfService #HarrisBeachMurtha #BoysAndGirlsClubsOfHartford #CommunityEngagement #Mentorship #FutureLeaders #CriticalThinking #Hartford #LawyersWhoCare by @danabucin
Had a lovely evening with fellow diplomats at the World Affairs Council of Connecticut for the annual Diplomat + Luminary Award event at the Wadsworth. It was a great opportunity to connect and celebrate our shared commitment to fostering international relations between Connecticut and the various countries represented by the diplomats. In the photo (left to right) were representatives from Lithuania, Germany, Hungary, Brazil, and Romania (myself). It was a memorable night surrounded by breathtaking art! #Diplomacy #GlobalConnections #LuminaryAward2026 by @danabucin
It was a privilege to attend the grand reopening of the Hartford Public Library’s Downtown Library on June 1 alongside local, state, and federal leaders, including U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal, Congressman John Larson, Hartford Mayor Arunan Arulampalam, UConn Hartford Dean Mark Overmyer-Velázquez, Hartford City Council member Marilyn Rossetti, and other community partners. The reopening celebrates years of restoration and reinvestment following the devastating 2022 flood that temporarily closed this vital community resource. I was especially pleased to visit The American Place & Social Innovation Center, a nationally recognized Hartford Public Library initiative that supports immigrant integration, citizenship assistance, adult education, workforce development, and community empowerment. The center continues to demonstrate how libraries can create pathways to opportunity and belonging. A highlight of the day was meeting with Homa Naficy, Executive Director of The American Place. We discussed promising opportunities for collaboration, including cultural exchange initiatives and expanded access to immigration law information and resources for immigrant communities across Connecticut. Congratulations to Hartford Public Library President & CEO Bridget E. Quinn, Homa Naficy, and the entire Hartford Public Library team for creating a vibrant civic and cultural hub that will benefit the community for generations! Hartford is stronger because of institutions like these. #HartfordPublicLibrary #HartfordCT #CommunityEmpowerment #ImmigrantSupport #LibrariesTransform #CivicEngagement #Connecticut by @danabucin
