A little life update! ☀️

About a month ago, my sister and I packed up my little Subaru with our suitcases & my cats and drove cross country from Ohio to California!

The whole time we kept saying, “how the heck did people do this in wagons?!”

Ohio will always be home, and I’m definitely missing my family & friends from the Midwest. Butttttt my 🤍 will always be on the west coast & I am so excited for some new adventures!

Oh, @santabarbarahairsalon, how I love you. ♡ working + living here has been such a magical experience. It has refilled my cup both personally + professionally. I’ve learned so much working with these amazing girls and all my clients in just a short year.

With that being said, I’m moving (lol, I know, again) to San Diego!

There’s still a lot up in the air for me at this time. I’ve considered a career shift for a while now, and I’m super close to getting my bachelor’s degree. (Yay!) But, with that being said; I’m considering coming back up to Santa Barbara to see some clients every so often! If you’d like to be apart of my waitlist, shoot me a comment or a DM.

🤎 minimal 🤎 bleach brunette

what exactly does that mean?

our goal was to break up her natural (key word: natural, or untouched from any chemical services) color to create a rich brunette.

we did a combination of high-lift & bleach highlights to give her a multi-dimensional and soft appearance. this way her hair will grow out softly & require minimal upkeep.

do yourself a favor and swipe to see our starting point! the before & after on this one is cray.

we have been previously been doing a full double process on my client to give her the brightest copper possible. we needed to pivot to something more dimensional and low maintenance, so we opted for a reverse balayage to reintroduce dimension & blend her natural base color.

this was a great compromise for her because she was able to still keep some of her spicy copper she so dearly loves, while reducing her maintenance. 🔥

the number one reason clients tell me that they don’t wear their natural waves is because they don’t know how to revamp them day two.

here’s how I like to add volume back into my waves using a tool you probably already have - a clothing steamer!

this helps create a tousled, beachy effect. probably not for those who prefer a structured and defined curl.

the steam reactivates any previous product put into the hair, so no product is necessary. maybe just a bit of hair oil to tame any unwanted frizz.

personally, I love the messy and undone vibe.

what’s one of my favorite things about hand painted balayage?

how seamless & low maintenance it is.

my client here only gets her hair colored one to two times a year. with balayage, her color grows out seamlessly, allowing for it to look great for 6+ months.
